potty training Aidan

On the 28th Nov 09, we started potty training Aidan. The day before that, I bought some cartoon-inspired underwear for him and the next morning, when Hubs took Aidan’s diaper off, he let Aidan wear his underwear instead and that was how we started our journey to potty train the little fellow. We had to constantly remind him that he could not wet his underwear and that each time he needed to relieve himself, we told him to do it in the bathroom.

Anyway, 15 minutes after wearing his underwear…Aidan said, “Ng-ng!” Hubs quickly rushed him to the bathroom but he was a second too late cause Aidan had already pooed onto his underwear. LOL! Throughout the day, he had several hits and misses but it’s expected. He gets carried away when he’s playing but generally, we get him to pee every 15-20 minutes and he’d actually want to eventhough it’s a teensie bit of pee

So basically, for now, he wears underwear at home but we slap on diapers on him when he sleeps or when we go out. Yesterday, he fell asleep in the afternoon wearing his underwear and Tini changed him into diapers when he was asleep. When he woke up, he realized that he was wearing diapers and was puzzled (obviously he didn’t realize Tini had changed him out of his underwear and replaced it with his diaper). He said touched his diaper and said, “Anty?” (instead of calling his underwear brief/underwear, he followed Ashley and calls it panty instead )

Let’s hope he’d be fullly potty trained come January cause that’s when he starts going to school.
