Zoo Negara
Posted on May 31, 2010

The kindy Aidan goes to organized a field trip for the nursery kids to Zoo Negara. I volunteered to help out again and followed them. There were 9 kids in total from Aidan’s class and there were 5 adults to help out for that class so the student to adult ratio was pretty good - manageable. I must say that our Zoo is very very sad…..Taman Safari Indonesia is wayyyyy much better (I haven’t been to the Singapore Zoo yet though)

The crocodiles were all sooo…..small. Boring. Period.

These are 120kg tortoises. They are humungous!

The live show, to me, was boring.
First of all, the commentator’s voice was too soft & muffled. He didn’t capture the audiences’ attention at all. Aidan was fidgetting throughout the show cause it didn’t impress him at all.

We sat on the tram….too lazy to walk

This is the best shot I got of the giraffe. Took this from the tram.

We sat on the tram and they brought us round the zoo twice in 15 minutes. I mean TWICE in 15 minutes! So you can imagine how fast the driver was driving right? Tsk.
We also saw one or two lions and tigers who were probably all drugged cause they looked dazed. Boring…
We adjourned to a fast food restaurant at the Zoo for lunch. They are like McD wannabe. Served chicken nuggets, fries and burger which were all bland. Blech. Definitely not in the list of best franchise opportunities.
At the end of the day, the kids had fun. They get to see animals in the concrete jungle.
As for me - I was knackered. All the kids and the adults slept on the way back to the kindy.
Malaysia should do something about the Zoo. It’s sad, pathetic and so embarassing. If Singapore & Indonesia can do a good job with their Zoo, I don’t see why Malaysia can’t. Afterall, kan ‘Malaysia boleh’?
xoxo A disappointed Malaysian.

our next dive trip
Posted on May 31, 2010
I can hardly wait to go for our next dive trip scheduled for this month with some friends and of course, Hubs. Kids? They will be taken care of by my parents. Each time we plan for trip without the kids, we also fly my parents over to KL to do their tour of duty with their cucus (grandkids). We’d be driving to another state and then we’d take a boat to an island. Details - after the trip of course. As of now, I gotta concentrate on getting my work done and ensure that our auto insurance is in place before the trip. Can’t wait though for the sun, sea and sand. Somehow, we welcome the sun when it comes to a dive/beach holiday :D Till then, am doing the countdown….

baby steps to a healthier lifestyle
Posted on May 31, 2010
I always believe it that if you can change your lifestyle to a healthier one, there isn’t any need for you to take any supplements to help you lose the unwanted weight you want. I for one do not take any diet pills or what not. I try to change my lifestyle.
- I start my day by drinking a cup of blended fruit juice (mix of beetroot, tomato, orange, green apple and carrots, thanks to KP). On weekdays, I don’t eat rice at all - except if Tini cooks my mom’s infamous Hainanese Chicken rice
- I try to swim as regularly as I can and I take the opportunity to do so when I bring the kids to the pool. Unfortunately I am not disciplined enough to start running but maybe in due time.
- I hardly ever drink carbonated drinks (too much sugar in it!), I don’t drink coffee (cause I don’t like the taste but LOVE the smell) and although Tini’s fried chicken wings is my favourite dish, I have asked her to cook it once in 2 weeks (as opposed to once every week).
Slowly but surely, I am taking baby steps to change my lifestyle to a healthier one. I don’t have any need to do any curvatrim reviews or what not. How about you? Are you living a healthy lifestyle or trying to? If yes, I’d love to hear from you.

I love moi
Posted on May 31, 2010
When I was younger, I used to be unhappy with my body. Ai ya..it’s never enough right? Boobs not big enough. Thighs to flabby, tummy too flabby, shoulders not wide enough and what not. But then again, I realised that people who are confident with themselves looks good despite their flaws. So I have learnt to love my own body and started on my journey to live a healthier lifestyle. No diet pills. No botox whatsoever. When you love your own body, you’d be more confident and you stand taller too don’t you think? This goes out to men too. Forget about what vigrx reviews or what not. Learn to love yourself!

invoices and receipts?
Posted on May 31, 2010
Some of my customers over at Mom’s Little Treasure Box (MLTB) have requested for receipts for their purchase. Unfortunately, I don’t do official invoices and receipts. My invoice in my email reply is as formal as it gets. But I am considering whether I should invest time in giving my customers official invoices and receipts… To conme to think of it, I’d need to customize the templates and get a receipt printer and all. Oh what the heck la…it just takes too much time ![]()

Aidan’s 3rd & Ashley’s 5th birthday party
Posted on May 28, 2010
This year (like the previous years) we celebrated Aidan and Ashley’s birthday together since their birthdays are 1 month apart. This time we decided to have it outdoors so we don’t have to bother about catering for food and cleaning up the mess at the house after the party. We organized a party at a club where there’s swimming pool so that the kids could play to their heart’s content! I’ll let the pictures do the talking…

These are the party packs which we distributed to the kids during the party. Ben 10 inspired goodies for the boys and Princess inspired goodies for the girls. You can find out what I put in the party packs here.

ooo! The lovely cupcakes made by my friend, Chris. Each and every cupcake was made with alot of love and dedication! If you look at Aidan’s cupcakes (the left half), notice the numbers 8,5,0,7 on the cars? That is Aidan’s date of birth! I was very pleased with these cupcakes. Just in case you haven’t figured out yet (duh!?), Aidan’s cupcakes are ben-10 inspired and Ashley’s cupcakes were made based on Princess Ariel theme.

After we sang the birthday song, Aidan went ahead and reserved the 4 green Ben-10 cupcakes for himself!

And of course the Princess Ariel cupcake went to the birthday girl

Here are some of the guests…..
front row - Zaria, Zara, Shannon
back row - Ashley, Cousin Nicole. Aidan

Cousin Jared and his mama. I blogged about Jared when he was born and lookie here…see how much he has grown.

Cool Surfer dude - Ronan

Kate-Lynn - The Little Taufu-Fa

When we reached home, Ashley was very excited to get to open up her pressies one by one.

Aidan on the other hand wasn’t as excited as Ashley or I when it came to opening up the pressies. He was very focussed on the toy machine gun which he got from Shannon, Ronan and Ava! Boys will be boys!!!!
Thanks for all the pressies!! You know who you are

Something new for Mom’s Little Treasure Box
Posted on May 26, 2010

I’ve been meaning to post this but never got round to it. Mom’s Little Treasure Box has a new header/logo/blinkie thanks to the lovely Sasha. I have been meaning to get this done a long time ago but never got round to do it. There is a meaning to this logo.
‘Made with love’ tagline - the jewelry are all made with love by me
The house symbolizes that I am a work from home mom. Besides my day job, I make handmade jewelry from my humble home.
Hearts coming out from the chimney? - Subjected to many different interpretation. To me it symbolizes doing something that I love and translating that to my handmade jewelry and sharing it with others.
Hope you like it as much as I do!
xoxo

Mother’s Day
Posted on May 26, 2010
The kids’ school organized a Mother’s Day celebration early this month. Mothers joined in with the celebration in school. The dress code was flowers so the kids and I went to school in floral prints clothing.

This was taken just before we went to school. Check out the fake tattoo on Ashley’s arm - yes, it’s a flower.
The school organized a singing and dancing session between the kids and their moms and after that, we had to go to the kids’ classroom to do a craft together with the kids. Seeing that I have 2 kids, I had to divide my time between 2 classes. Not an easy feat as they’ve only allocated about 45 mins for this.
So firstly, I spent time with Aidan at his classroom. We had to do this together. Ashley didn’t want to be the only one in her classroom without a mommy so she was with me at Aidan’s classroom.

The sample above was done by his teacher to give us an idea on what to come out with.

Aidan and I came up with the craft above (left) and after that he presented me with the handmade bag which was made prior to that day. I love the bag btw
and handmade? Way to go!
Next, Ashley and I rushed over to her classroom. By that time, everyone else had completed their craft with their respective moms. Ashley and I were the last one to do this together. I dunno what to make of it though….

And then she presented me with the handmade cupcake which she made prior to that day.
I love it!
Thanks Kiddos!

my water babies
Posted on May 25, 2010

24 April 2010 - Aidan @ 2y 11months
My kids are like water babies. If the weather and their health permits, it’d be their ultimate drrreammmmm to swim everyday from morning till night. Which kinda reminds me when I was a kid though. Those days, swimming for me is only worth it if I went to the club in the morning and left in the evening. Seriously. That explains why I was so tanned when I was a kid. If you knew me then, you’d know why
My mom on the otherhand is very fair. But when they shift their eyes to me, they’d say that I look like a Philippino kid (not to discrminate Philippinos or anything but there are alot of Philippino illegal immigrants @ KK who, by the way are very dark skinned which is probably due to the nature of their work).
Going back to my kids, I don’t want my kids to look as burnt tanned as I did when I was their age. Therefore I make sure that they wear protective clothing or protective swimwear when they bask under the sun in the pool. The protective swimwear would at least protect their gentle skins from the harsh UVA and UVB rays. I too have realised that I am no longer young. My skin is no longer youthful
so to maintain whatever youthfulness that it still has, I wear a rash guard to swim. Teh lil missy also have a rash guard of her own. And it’s Pink of course. No photo of her in this post at the moment. Perhaps later.
Adios for now.
P/S Love that smile on that Lil Munchkin of mine. He tends to smile like this for the camera as opposed to showing off his teeth when he smiles. I likey!
