hard at work
Posted on February 24, 2010

The Lil Missy hasn’t been going to school for 2 days now because she has a stuffy nose and a cough. This morning, she decided that she wanted to do some work so she busied herself doing some writing. She practised writing her ABCs. Hopefully she’d be as enthusiastic as this when she starts getting homework from school (starting next year when she goes to K2).
P/S After her Ds, she closed the book and laid down on the bed and watched Winnie The Pooh cartoon from my iPhone @_@. She said she needed a break ^_^.
P/P/S - Meanwhile I got MORE bento boxes for the kids! Check it out in my shopping blog.

the age of innocence
Posted on February 23, 2010
Wake up!

Every weekday evening, as a reward for waiting patiently for me to finish my work at home and for finishing their dinner on time (They have their dinner at 5pm), I’d bring them to the neighbourhood playground. 2 weeks ago, when we went to the playground, we saw a dead snake which was cut in half (someone must have deliberately killed it.). Aidan stooped over the snake, clearly amazed at seeing the snake up close. There were flies hovering over the carcass. (The snake was probably dead for less than a day as we didn’t notice it the day before). Seeing that the snake didn’t move, Aidan innocently, said, “Snake! Wake up! Wake up!”. Our initial reaction was to laugh at his sheer innocence but we (My parents and I) were quick to laugh quietly to ourselves. I went on to explain to him that the snake was already dead but he didn’t seem to grasp the concept. The boy understands that when he steps on ants, the ants die but doesn’t seem to grasp the fact that what laid on the ground was a dead snake. We saw the dead snake the next 2 days when we went to the playground and each time we passed it, he kept calling out to the snake to ‘wake up’.

Crayons
Speaking of innocence, Hubs brought Ashley to the mens’ public washroom sometime last year or the year before (can’t remember when) and she saw a cigarette in the WC and asked, “Dad, why is there a crayon in the toilet bowl?” (Can’t remember what Hubs replied) She then came out of the washroom where she joined me and Aidan and told me what she saw in the toilet bowl. I couldn’t help by smile at her remark.

With all the crap that is going on in our country, it’s such a refreshing change to see kids so innocently speak or react towards life.

what we did on the 2nd day of Chinese New Year…
Posted on February 22, 2010
The kids had never been on a train ride before and Hubs and I thought that Chinese New Year break was the BEST time to bring them on a train ride since everyone had gone back to their hometowns to enjoy the long break, leaving Kuala Lumpur city jam-free and crowd-free! So we decided to board the LRT from Petaling Jaya and headed to KLCC or lunch and a bit of shopping and we headed back to Petaling Jaya. The kids had fun and were so excited at what they saw along the way.

Waiting for the LRT to arrive…

Everyone was sitting down and the kids were standing!

Ashley enjoying the view…

Aidan was taken by the view as well…he couldn’t take his off what he saw from the window…

Some display of ‘art’ on the walls of the monsoon drain which we passed along the way…

Posted on February 22, 2010
With all the eating during the Chinese New Year festive season, it’s no surprise that many people have gained weight from stuffing themselves silly. If you’re into lossing the weigh that you’ve gained during CNY, another alternative which you may consider is to check out weight loss drug. I for one am not into taking stuff to loss weight but if you are interested, you can check out relacore reviews.

>breaking out<
Posted on February 22, 2010
I mentioned before that I’m starting to get zits on my face which then leaves a scar on my face. I’m not sure what has caused it - whether it’s the weather or hormones or what not but I’m worried that if this continues, I’m gonna scars all over my face! Before it turns out to be acne, I reckon I gotta check what acne treatment or prevention are available out there to put this to a stop. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

>no more bare-backs for now<
Posted on February 22, 2010
Lately, I’ve also been getting zits on my back - and I blame it on the heat! It has been so hot these days especially during Chinese New Year and not only am I breaking out on my face, but my back is effected! Bye-bye to bare-backs clothing for now as I got to probably shop around for a suitable acne body wash to get rid of the zits on my back. argh!

>wishful thinking<

Every now and then, we fall into that phase where Hubs and I want to replace our cars and get a new one. So lately, we’ve been hopping from one car showroom to another and with cheap car insurance with the NCD that we’ve accumulated, we have been tempted on several times to buy a new car. Then we kick ourselves in the head and come back to reality. The priority now is to get ourselves a new house.

>low on hormones<

I never knew there was such a thing as getting your male testosterone a boost until I stumbled on this article of natural testosterone. Guys can actually suffer from low testosterone and the symptoms would be that your mood will take a dive and you may experience the following :
- increased insulin resistance which makes it harder to lose body fat
- Constant fatigue and reduced zest of life
- reduced mental capacity - this one made me LOL!
Anyway…..fret not, there is a solution to this.

>secret to a natural weight loss regime<
Posted on February 22, 2010
During this Chinese New Year, we’ve been doing alot of visiting and have been eating alot! I met friends which I have not met in a while and they all commented that I’ve lost weight (which I haven’t) and I reckon it was the clothing that I was wearing at that time which made me look as though I had shed some weight. They kept asking me what my secret was, whether it was the Yoga, or I was taking any weight loss supplements or not. My secret is my kids. They are one hyper bunch!

>zits and scars<
Posted on February 22, 2010
Lately, I noticed that when I get pimples on my face, they’d leave a scar behind and this is so disturbing me. I never used to have any problem with zits or scarring on my face but lately, it’s been happening and I’m not sure whether it’s the weather or hormones or the moisturizer for face that I’m using but I hope to get to the bottom of this real quick! Meanwhile, all I have to say is THANK GOD for concealers!
