Patience is a virtue
Posted on December 17, 2009

I scolded the kids today because they played in the rain even after I warned them not to. Then Ashley said…
Ashley : You are very rude. You are not patient with me. My teacher said that it’s a bad habit if you are not patient.
I was stunned…but I was glad that to know that she is taking away good pointers from school and that her teacher is teaching her good values.
Me : If you keep testing my patience, I will run out of it.
Ashley : Ok. So be patient now!
Kids these days..what do they put in the milk to make them such smart-pants ey?

boys and cars
Posted on December 17, 2009

(Pic taken on 13 Nov 09) - Aidan purposely closed his eyes for this shot…
Aidan loves his toy cars. He loves anything with wheels. Needless to say, he also likes real cars. Each time he’s out of his car seat, if we’re not fast enough to bring him out of the car, he’d quickly move to the driver’s seat and pretend to drive the car by moving the steering wheel and then without fail, he’d sound the horn. A few times. Then he’d wander around the car, looking at whatever car accessories that it’s in our car (which is not much except for the standard car accessories). When we try to grab him, he’d leap to the other side of the car. A real monkey he is. Cheeky one. I guess boys will be boys.

27 July 09 - Ashley wearing an apron, pretending take down our orders….
The lil missy and Aidan likes to play pretend. Ashley usually likes to be the mommy and Aidan her son. I find them so cute when they play pretend because Aidan would really play the part. He’d like Ashley boss her around and all. At times like this, when they are playing and not fighting, it’s really nice to see them being civil towards each other. At times when they clash, oh my….they’d be like cats and dogs which can make us burst a vein, pull out our hair or get acne breakouts. I must say that that the ratio of them being civil towards each other to when they fight like cats and dogs is 1:1 ratio. A tip of the balance to the dark side would send me to look for acne treatments.
>online shopping<
Posted on December 17, 2009
I am such an online shopping addict. I love to shop online for stuff - makeup, jewelry, clothes. With 2 kids, I find shopping online so much more convenient than having to lug the both of them out, find a parking space at the mall, and deal with their tantrums - all which is just a nasty recipe for a not-so-nice shopping experience. Hence I resort to online shopping. I like it when I receive my orders through mail. It’s like Christmas all over again
heheh.. cheap thrill but it is, a thrill for me. Online shopping means paying by credit card and it’s doesn’t hurt to get identity theft protection . For those of you who enjoy online shopping as much as I do, you should check that out too.

>online university<
Posted on December 17, 2009
I’m can never get over the fact that at this day and age, one can actually obtain a university degree online from an online university. It makes life so much easier where you can learn from the comfort of your own home. WGU is a fully accredited online university which offers a variety of bachelor’s and master’s degrees programs. There’s a Teacher’s College, College of Business, College of Information Technology, College of Health Professions where they offer If you are interested in nursing, you can check out rn to bsn online. I personally think this concept of an online university is pretty darn cool!

Lil Cheeky Taukeh
Posted on December 17, 2009

(pic taken on 27 Nov 09)
See this picture? If you are trying to figure out this picture…well picture this. I was in my study room, sitting on my chair…working in front of my computer and Aidan, still in his PJs, squeezed behind me, sat on my chair so that he could suck his thumb and grab my hair from the back! You see so much of my arm in that picture cause I stretched out to take a photo of him
AAs you can tell by now, he’d go through great lengths to get his combo fix (thumb sucking action + mommy’s hair)
On another note, Aidan is doing very well with his potty training. Today is Day 18 of his potty training. He had only 1 accident today (because of that darn Vitagen which he walloped….) but apart from that, he was really good. When he felt like peeing, he’d quickly inform us that he needed to pee so that we can bring him to the toilet. However this Lil Taukeh has been very cheeky lately. You see, in order to get to the toilet, we need to get pass the child safety gate at the entrance of the kitchen. On several occasions, he gave us false alarms and said that he needed to pee and that he couldn’t ‘tahan’. Upon hearing that, we quickly opened the gate to bring him to the toilet. Once he got past the gate, instead of heading towards the toilet, the cheeky lil taukeh fooled us by :
1. Opening the refrigerator instead to ask for orange juice/vitagen/yoghurt or what not
2. Climbed onto a stool and opened the cabinet above the kitchen counter and reached into the cabinet for biscuits
Apart from him fooling us, I’m very happy with his Potty Training progress. It’s less stressful this time round compared to when we were potty training Ashley. Maybe it’s cause we have Tini around to clean up the mess if accidents happens
Having said that, he could be really busy at play but will always ask to go to the loo when he felt like peeing - unlike Ashley who’d forget about wanting to pee and wet herself especially while she is busy playing.
Way to go Aidan!!

Potty Trainng Progress - Day 16
Posted on December 14, 2009

Here are some updates on Aidan’s potty training.
He still insistson wearing his ‘anty’ (underwear) when we’re at home - which is a good sign I suppose
and he wears diapers when we go out and when he naps/sleeps.
As of last saturday (Day 14), he had no accidents at home. In fact, I was surprised that he didn’t have any accidents because he was so busy playing with his new bicycle and each time he had to pee, he’d run into the house and say, “Want she-she. Cannot tahan’“. I thought he’d forget about peeing altogether and wet himself but he didn’t.
Yesterday. each when he woke up in the morning, the first thing he said was, “Want she-she” and we rushed him into the toilet to relieve himself and surprisingly, his diaper was dry!
This morning though, although he asked to relieve himself in the loo, his diaper was a bit wet.
Last night, before going to bed and when he already has his diaper on, he informed me that he wanted to she-she. Our first response (since we’re so tired by night) was, “she-she in your diaper“. I know….this is so bad….it’d confuse him and all but I was too lazy to bring him to the loo. But then what caught me off-guard was his response. He said, “Why?” - obviously confused why at times we ask him to pee in the loo and why sometimes we ask him to pee in his diaper. I immediately aplogized to him for the confusion and brought him to the loo !:)
Anyhow, that’s a big improvement for the Little Taukeh!
I’m glad that he’s now fond of going to Toto toilets to relieve himself. Soon, he’d be off the diapers…Can’t wait!

>Little Wonder<
Posted on December 14, 2009

Ronan just turned 2 last week but this little fellow can really play the chinese drums! It’s not just random but his drum-play actually has a beat to it - as though he’s training to play the chinese drums for a Lion Dance performance. Seriously. He’s good. I wonder how he’d fair with stainless steel drums . I’m sure he’d have no problems with it too!

>a make-over<
Posted on December 14, 2009
We’ve been staying in our house for the last 6 years and we reckon our house needs a major make-over. I probab;y want it more than Hubs because I stay at home most of the time! There are a couple of things i’d like to do in short term like clearing out the junk we’ve accumulated and in the long term, I would like to change the tile flooring inside of my house and at the garage. They look so tired and out of date if you ask me. This house make-over is major but it keeps my head working besides thinking of work and the kids.
