chunkY monkeY bracelets

I gotta kick myself once in awhile to get myself creating more stuff more often. Here are some chunky monkey bracelets which I posted in my blogshop last week. Perfect for the holiday season coming right up. I will be on leave for the most part of December and hopefully will create more stuff too. If you’ve joined the Mom’s Little Treasure Box fan page in facebook, you’d notice that I have posted up a poll on what stuff you’d like me to create…My creative mind is momentarily blank at the moment. our blessings

22 Nov 09 - Aidan & Ashley doing that brother-sisterly pose for the camera
Sometimes we get too caught up with our busy work schedules and everyday distractions and forget to appreciate the blessings that we have before our eyes. Every now and then, I stop and stare at my kids, feeling overwhelmed, suddenly realising that HEY! these 2 kiddos are my own flesh and blood and that I can’t believe that they’re my kids 
It’s kinda surreal at times and it reminds me to always be thankful for these blessings that God have given to us.

I am not a coffee drinker but I actually LOVE LOVE LOVE the smell of coffee. I think this is it not unusual for non coffee drinkers to like the smell of coffee. The smell and taste of coffee just don’t seem to jive somehow for my taste buds but I wish I was a coffee drinker though so that I can buy one of those vintage-looking espresso machines which would look really nice in my kitchen!

We sleep in an air-conditioned room - the kids as well and while I snuggle under the comforter to keep myself nice and warm, my kids on the other hand do not like to use their own blankets. I’d cover them with their own blankets when they fall asleep and they’d definitely kick it away in the middle of the night. I wonder whether they’d do the same anto an electric blanket if we were in a cold country during winter.

The holiday season is here as far as I am concerned. We will be going back to my hometown for the annual Christmas celebration at home. As usual, there’d be lots of good food to eat…we’d stuff ourselves silly with the infamous beed noodles, my mom’s delicious cakes and cooking and my dad’s yummy BBQ stuff. We’d always feel guilty after the holiday season. I guess it won’t hurt to colon cleanse after that huh?

Each time Ashley and Shannon meet, they’d hit it off and will happily play on their own. We attended a mutual friend’s twins’ (Keith & Kyan) 2nd birthday party 2 weekends ago and let’s just say that nothing could get in their way. Shannon’s mom also gave them fake tattoos on their arms and Ashley still has it on till this day! Look at them in the picture above? They were so proud to be given tattoos! They even posed as though they were modelling for Michael Kors! When it was time to go back, we had alot of protest from the girls. When Shannon’s mom told Shannon that they were leaving, Ashley said..
Ashley : Why do you have to go back?
Shannon’s mom : Because Ronan (2yo) is tired and wants to sleep
Ashley : Let him sleep here

my biker dude

Here’s my biker dude. He is really good with the bicycle albeit it has 4 wheels and all but he handles it like p.r.o.! Seriously. He’d speed along the corridor and then before he reaches the end, he’d slow down by not peddling (he doesn’t know how to use the brakes yet) and then he’d swiftly maneuveur the steering to the left or right to make a u-ey and then he’d hurry along to the other end of the room and then swiftly makes a u-ey again. I wonder whether home insurance will cover any damages caused by my biker dude since he rides the bicycle in the house itself! However I am proud to say that he has not wrecked anything yet

17 Nov 09 - Aidan getting his fix
As you can tell by now, my kids have a thing for my hair - be it long or short, clean or in need of a wash, they like to grab a bunch of my hair and fiddle with the edges of my hair with the tips of their fingers or they like to brush the tips of my hair on their faces. It’s amazing how such simple things can make my kids happy. This morning, as I was working at my desk, Aidan pulled up a chair next to mine, climbed on top of it so that he could suck his right thumb and play with my hair with his left hand. After 2 mins, Ashley called out to him to play and he immediately let go of my hair, took his thumb out from his mouth and said, ‘Ok! Mommy. Bye.” And then he proceeded to get off the chair and went ahead to play with Ashley. Thumb sucking while playing with my hair was all he needed as his fix to move on. Sometimes, he’d stop what he’s doing, climb up the chair next to mine to suck his thumb and play with my hair for a minute or two and then he’d stop and continue playing. Well, I’m glad I can be of their service somehow while working from home :) Let’s just hope that don’t have to look for acne products when they get older as a result of all that hair brushing on their faces!

I love to look back at old photos and then do the Ooos and the Aaahs. Here’s one I picked out of Aidan when he was 5 months old. Speaking of babies……Ashley has been requesting for a mei-mei (little sister) - as though we could go pick one out at the supermarket or something. Last weekend, after attending Ronan’s birthday party where Ashley had a blast playing with Ronan’s sister, Shannon, she said,
Ashley : Mommy, I want a mei-mei. And then I can name her Shannon.
Mommy : *rolls eyes*
Hubs : What if you get di-di instead or mei-mei? (little brother)
Ashley : Then I will name him Ronan. But I don’t want di-di. I want mei-mei.
Me : But what if we get di-di instead?
Ashley : Ask God la. God has many mei-meis to give out.
23 July 2007 - Ashley at 2y 1mo. Ai yo..she looks so cute in this picture. This picture was taken on one of her first days at school at the previous kindy she used to go to. Soooooo cute!

In my previous post, I did mention that Ashley wanted mostly everything that I have. One day, she asked me to get her her own computer. I must admit that I did consider it. I was tempted to get her one of those netbooks which are nice and small but hello! Of course we decided against it. Secretly though, I wanted one of those for myself….but…*sigh*…it’s hardly justifiable. So….next!
