the little taukeh is down with a buggy tummy

29 Oct 2009 - Aidan getting some air-time on my phone in the morning while Ashley was at school

Pointing at the helicopters which flew over our house.
My poor Aidan is not well. He started out fine in the morning but in the afternoon, he started feeling unwell, complained about a tummy ache and next thing we knew, he puked ALL over Tini! (Tini was carrying him on a baby sling). It was the first time he has ever puked to that extent. His lunch came right out. And then he took a nap..and woke up crying and next thing we knew, he had puked all over the bed. And then we cleaned him up, he fell asleep and woke up to vomit again and this happened like another 3-4 times. Hopefully he will bounce right out of this. He feels so miserable and I suspect he’s got like wind in his tummy or something.

Aidan was fine and dandy this morning….
Ashley has been complaining about a pain in her throat for the last 2 days and each time that happens, she pukes and then she is all fine and dandy again. I reckon this was her way of avoiding eating her meals cause it only happens during mealtime for the past 2 days but then again, we better bring them to the paed tonight. Here’s hoping that all will be ok. Sick kids is a real fat burner for me. Gotta tend to them 10x more than usual. Each time Aidan cries and whines, I got to tend to him cause that’s when he feels uncomfortable and then puke. If I wasn’t fast enough, like what happened just now, I’d get the honour of getting puke all over my baju.

Close the door and Chicken Rice
Posted on October 27, 2009

24 Oct 2009 - Aidan all set to go out for our Deepavali lunch at a friend’s house. If you recall, this is the same top which Ashley wore 2 years ago!

27Oct09 - Aidan trying to do the peace sign.
Mommy! Close door!
My study/work room is located on the 2nd floor of our house. Each time Aidan goes upstairs during my working hours, I’d usually close my door and lock it so that he won’t go into the room and disturb me and he’d usually get upset about that. Lately, he knows that he should not be going into my office during my working hours so each time he goes up the staircase with Tini (be it to come up to take something or take his bath etc), he’d shout from the bottom of the stairs and say,
Aidan : Mommy! Close door!!!
Me : Ok!
And I’d proceed to close the door. This way, he feels that he has control over the situation as opposed to me closing the door and physically preventing him from entering my office. If that happened, habis la. He’d throw his tantrum and cry like there’s no tomorrow.
Chicken rice
Till this day, I absolutely love smelling Aidan’s hair. It’s my thing with him. If I asked him to come over so that I can smell his hair, he’d obediently come over to me and bow his head so that I can smell his hair and he finds great pleasure looking at the look of satisfaction on my face.
e.g.
While he was busy playing with his toy cars…
Me : Aidan, come over. Mommy wants to smell your hair
He’d stop what ever he was doing and he’d come over and bow his head and let me smell his hair!
Aidan : Nice?
Me : mmmm nice!
Then he’d reciprocate and smell my hair and say,”Mmmm Nice! Chicken rice!” LOL! I’m not sure what chicken rice has got to do with anything but maybe it rhymes?

…..the Little Taukeh has been accepted into the same kindy as Ashley and he would start in Jan 2010. Oh wow! How time friggin’ flies yeah!!!! I wonder how he’d be at school….will he…
1. be crying when I leave him?
2. bully others?
3. will he be potty trained by then? (note to self –> start diigently potty train the Little Taukeh! In fact, at home, he pees when we sit him on the WC and most of the time, he’d let us know that he want to do a big one and we’d sit him on the WC as well. So now, it’s just a matter of diligently potty train him …

(Pic taken on 23 Oct 2009) - Love this picture! I was in a concall and she put on her princess dress and fairy-ensemble all by herself. I couldn’t resist taking a picture of her!
As for the Lil Missy..my oh my..she’ll be in K-blardy-1! So fast!!!! We signed her up for the mandarin class at school and hopefully, during her K1 and K2 years, she’d pick up reasonable amount of Mandarin. Will we send her to a Chinese school for Primary 1? Don’t know yet.
Anyway, here’s a wonderful weekend to y’all!

I’ve started on Yoga
Posted on October 22, 2009

19 Oct 2009 - Good Morning Kids! Aidan helping the cheh-cheh to hold her milk bottle. Yes…she still drinks her milk from the bottle!
In the spirit of keeping fit and healthy, I’ve taken a step forward and started on Yoga. I have contemplated whether I should join the gym or a Yoga center and after considering the benefits of Yoga, my schedule, convenience and all, I have decided to join a Yoga Center. Yoga is supposed to be :
- excellent for toning of the muscles - through yoga, flaccid, weak or slothy muscles get stimulated repeatedly to shed excess fla and flaccidity - which is what we want
- Massaging of ALL Organs of the Body – Yoga is perhaps the only form of activity which massages all the internal glands and organs of the body in a thorough manner, including those – such as the prostate - that hardly get externally stimulated during our entire lifetime. Yoga acts in a wholesome manner on the various body parts. This stimulation and massage of the organs in turn benefits us by keeping away disease and providing a forewarning at the first possible instance of a likely onset of disease or disorder.
- completely detoxify your body! - by gently stretching muscles and joints and massaging the various organs in our body, yoga ensures the optimum blood sypply to various parts of the body and this in turn helps to flush out toxins from every nook and cranny as well nourishment up to the last point. This leads to benefits such as delayed ageing, energy and a remarkable zest for life. –> Yes yes, we want this too
- Increasing Flexibility - yoga has positions that act upon the various joints of the body including those joints that are never really on the ‘radar screen’ let alone exercised.
- Increasing lubrication of the joints, ligaments and tendons – likewise, the well-researched yoga positions exercise the different tendons and ligaments of the body.
Surprisingly it has been found that the body which may have been quite rigid starts experiencing a remarkable flexibility in even those parts which have not been consciously work upon. Why? It is here that the remarkable research behind yoga positions proves its mettle. Seemingly unrelated “non strenuous” yoga positions act upon certain parts of the body in an interrelated manner. When done together, they work in harmony to create a situation where flexibility is attained relatively easily.

I have gone for 2 classes within the past 1 week and I must say that amidst all the muscle aches, I do sleep better at nights!

the things they say….
Posted on October 20, 2009

14 Oct 09 - This ‘what’s-the-matter-with-you!” look was done on purpose. Cheeky fellow…
The things he says…
I just want to jot it down here that the Lil Taukeh has been delighting us with the things he says. He can string more and more words into a sentence now and well yea, being a parent, we’re always amazed at the things that come out of their mouth even though it seems like no-big-deal to others.
I wanted to bring Ashley upstairs to my study room yesterday so that Tini could wind him down for his afternoon nap. To distract him, we said :
Me : Cheh-cheh needs to go upstairs to ng-ng (poo) ok? (He wouldn’t accept it if I told him that I was gonna bring Ashley up without a ‘valid reason’)
Tini : OK, tolong kakak ambil baju dari luar ok? (She goes to the back to get him his small toy bucket)
Aidan : (looking up at Ashley and I who were on the staircase) I want cheh-cheh (f)ollow me outside.
Me : Cannot, Cheh-cheh go up to ng-ng first ok?
Aidan : No. I want cheh-cheh (f)ollow me outside. Mommy go upstairs.
Me : Cheh-cheh will go downstairs after she is done ok?
Aidan : OK.
And of he went to take the bucket from Tini and went outside of the house. By the time Tini was done taking in the baju-baju and all, he had already wound down and fell asleep in the living room hall.
The things she says…
Last night, before going upstairs to our bedroom, I told the kids the clean up their toys which were ALL OVER the floor. (What’s new right?) At that time, Ashley was pretty tired already as she didn’t take her nap in the afternoon. So naturally, she was grumpy and put on a long, black face when she methodically kept the toys back to where they originally were.
Me : What’s wrong with you? Why’s your face like that?
Ashley : Mommy. If you talk to me nicely, I wouldn’t be grumpy you know
(Yes, I admit. I was abit harsh when I asked them to clean up only because Ashley was trying to wiggle her way out of cleaning up and always assuming that Tini will clean up their mess and I have always emphasized to her to clean up after she is done playing with her stuff)
Me : Yes I know, and I would talk nicely to you if you listened to me in the first place.
…and off she went, continued to put her toys back with her long, black face. *sigh*

11 Oct 2009 - (L to R) - Ashley, Nicole, Aidan, Bridget at FIL’s birthday lunch party
Last weekend, we celebrated FIL’s birthday at a chinese resturant with Hub’s side of the family. We were one of the last to arrive. We said our hellos to all and got ourselves seated down. As usual, when we meet with a large crowd, Aidan becomes extra moody and grumpy. Don’t know why. Perhaps he doesn’t like the attention he gets since he is the youngest grandson and all? Beats the hell out of me but he was in that’ I-only-want-mommy’ attitude. Amidst all the hustle and bustle, both Hubs and I got separated. He sat right at the other end of the rectangular table while the kids, Tini and I were on the other end. (Perhaps that’s his way of having a peaceful lunch? Whatever!) Annnyway, so lunch was served, and then Hubby, perhaps trying to ease the load off me suggested for Aidan to sit next to him. So Tini dragged Aidan (who was on his baby chair) next to Hubs and Ho and Behold! Aidan screeeeeeammmmed as though he was being kidnapped or something. He basically screamed so loud I swear the other patrons were cursing under their siew-lung-pao breaths! From the looks other people’s faces at restaurant, it looked as though they had cardboard displays on their forehead which read “Shut that kids up!”.
So that’s that. I never got to eat a proper lunch after that cause noone else could console him except Mommy dearest. Even Tini got to have a heartier lunch than me. Drats right? Well, a mom’s gotta do what a mom’s gotta do. After about like 15-20 mins, he calmed down and warmed up and started playing with his cousins and all but you know how it is right….I had already lost the momentum to eat. Hence I didn’t have a proper lunch. Double drats! *sigh*….He is truly a Mommy’s boy. A manja one. ![]()

so much for shopping on my day off!
Posted on October 17, 2009
I took a day off yesterday in hopes to give my wardrobe a boost by going shopping on my own. The kids? They were sent to my MIL’s house for the day. I started off the day…
1. harvesting my crops in Farmville - well it’s my day off right? i can do anything I damn please right?
2. took a shower, got dressed, did my makeup
3. then drove out,,,,still not knowing whether i should make my way into the city or just shop at Mid Valley Mega Mall…at the last minute, I settled for the latter.
dadadadada….there i was so happy to have a day off so that i could do my own thing but heck?! I was sneezing, and sneezing…and sneezing ( I tell ya, when i sneeze, I can’t stop until I pop an anti-histamine) and i had to twitch my nose evey now and then like a witch cause my nose was just - feeling damn tingly! I managed to shop for some baju-baju at Robinsons and cosmetics (of course!!! I am in a make-up phase) at Mac and finally settled for some anti-histamine which I bought from the pharmacy. Took the latest and greatest one called Aerius and it was like rm20+ per strip! Anyway…my shopping was limited to only 3 hours and then I couldn’t tahan and went back home to sleep! So, so much for shopping right?
So yea, btw, I am in a make-up/cosmetics phase right now. I bought a bunch of stuff online, added more to my MAC collection too. I am just soooo in a make-up frenzy at the moment. And btw, if any of you know of the best eye cream for wrinkles, pray tell! I ain’t getting any younger too yo!!!

October already???
Posted on October 17, 2009

11 Oct 2009 - Good Morning Aidan!
It’s already the month of October and before we know it, we’d be celebrating Christmas again and it’s that merry time of the year again! This year has been a challenging year for me (work-wise) but thankfully the critical period in the program which I am working with is finally over!!! And i mean, it’s sooo OVER! I realised though we didn’t get as many wedding invitations this year compared to last year. Speaking of weddings, a close girlfriend of mine will be getting married in December and as usual, we’d have a hen’s getaway, similar to our Bangkok trip. This time, 10 of us girls will be heading to Jakarta for a hens’ getaway. Why Jakarta? Cause another of your friend is there - so why not Jakarta this time? I can’t wait!!! I hope Aidan won’t go hysterical at nights when I am not around ![]()

reminiscing the good ol’ days…
Posted on October 17, 2009
A few days ago, I was trying to dig out some old photos and came across a photo of myself, before I had kids. The photo was taken when my gal pals and I went for a Hen’s getaway at Phuket in 2004. We were in our spagheti strap tops, shorts and flip flops of course, because we were afterall at Phuket for crying out loud! Annnyway, i realised then that I was so much slimmer and toned and lean then cause those were the days when my gal pals and I went to the gym like 3-friggin’-times-a-week kinda thing! (ya ya those were the days…) Seeing how jeolous of myself then ( yes I am pathetic aren’t I), I am determined to lose all those post-pregnancy flabs and start toning up that body! So for starters, I have started doing 100 sit-ups a day! Yeah baby! and I have been doing it for the last 6 days mind you. (Here’s hoping that I will have a fab-abs by Christmas! *fingers crossed*). I’ve signed up for a trial yoga class too (to see if I like it and all) and contemplating also whether I should join the gym where they have all kinds of aerobic classes and what not and their fancy ellipticals and all that jazz. Here’s a toast to a healthier mind, body and soul and a flab-free me! (Yes I am VAIN! and you know you are too!!!)
