the poser
Posted on September 30, 2009
Aidan has been really stingy on his poses. It may not seem like it from the pictures that I take but for me, he’d usually smile like 10 secs and that’s it, he’ll continue do his own stuff. So if I want him to smile and pose for the camera aka camwhore, I’d usually make sure that my camera is ready and focussed. When we ask him to smile, he’d smile and look into the camera and after like 10 secs…that’s it. No more camwhoring for ya! Of late though, he has been camwhoring alot!!! And we were so suprised at the sudden change in him. I took the opportunity to snap away. He even asked for more pictures of him to taken!!! (which of course, I was glad to do!)
He’s also been showing the power of his 2 swirls on his head! He’d say things like
“Mommy, Phone. NOW! NOW!”
And when I sent him to the norty corner after he deliberately hit his sister on the forehead, he said :
“What? What mommy? Cheh-cheh? Hit. Eye. What?” - I guess he thought hitting his sister was an ok thing to do.
He’s also a manja boy - nowadays, he’d want me to put him to sleep on a baby sling. Carrying a 14kg toddler on a baby sling is no joke. Beats having to use a Kettlebell to workout.

As long as the jewelry I make are suitable for little girls, Ashley will surely be my model and she loves being a model for me
So here’a a bobby pin with a flower cabochon which I personally handmade it with polymer clay. They come in pink, blue and red and if you’d like them in other colors, I can custom make them for you. (Yes, they are suitable for adults and little girls) Check them out at my blogshop.

Upon seeing Ashley with fancy bobby pins on her hair, Aidan also wanted some hair clips on his hair!!

cousins
Posted on September 23, 2009
We celebrate my MIL’s birthday last week with family and the kids got the chance to meet up with their cousins. We had lunch at a chinese restaurant and had a private room so that the kids are contained in that room and us adults can eat in peace while they muck around. We had good dim sum and thereafter, we walked around the mall abit and we’re constantly watching the kids especially Aidan! There isn’t any need to for me to look at weight loss products because looking after the kids is a natural weight loss program!

his favourite song…
Posted on September 23, 2009
13 Sept 09 - Aidan @ 2y 4m
Lately, this lil taukeh of ours have been belting out Mamma Mia songs. His favourites songs are currently ‘Super Trooper’ and ‘Lay All Your Love on Me’. He doesn’t know the lyrics of the entire song. He just knows the 1st line of the chorus of each song.
Mommy, YOU!
On another note, this lil taukeh is still very attached to me. He’d want me to do everything for him. If I am around, and
- If Tini wants to feed him, he’d take the plate from her hand and pass it to me and say “Mommy, YOU!”
- If Tini wants to change his diaper, he’d say, “Mommy, YOU!”
- If he realises that Tini is pushing his stroller, he’d say, “Mommy, YOU!”. Sometimes, he’d say “Daddy, YOU!”
- If Tini wants to carry him out of his car seat, he’d say “Mommy, YOU!”
Squeeler
This lil taukeh is quite a squeeler. If Ashley can’t finish her food, he’d go to the bottom of the staircase, look up and shout out to me “Mommyyyyyyyyyyy! Cheh-cheh cannot finish food!”
Naughty Corner
One day, while my parents were looking after the kids, Ashley scolded Aidan (not sure why). This was what she said :
Ashley : I told you many times already but you still don’t want to listen. Go to the naughty corner!
Aidan walked to the bottom of the stairs, rubbed both his eyes and started to cry.
Kesiannnnn….(reality check –> Ashley was mimicking how I usually scold her
)
Handful
Kids being kids, when both Ashley and Aidan are together, they are quite a handful. It’s like we’re constantly on a treadmill - always chasing and looking out for them especially when we are outdoors.

dilemma
Posted on September 23, 2009
The subject of whether which school to enroll Ashley into has come up quite often lately in our household. She’ll be 5 next year and it’d be time for us to sign her up into a school of our choice and hopefully we get what we want. The question is though - which type of school should we register her with? A chinese school or a kebangsaan school? Why the dilemma? Well, there are so many things on our mind now…To name a few…
1. Both hubs and I do not speak Mandarin. How the heck are we gonna guide her when she asks us how to do this and that?
2. We are not sure if she will be able to cope with the chinese method of teaching which is a vast difference compared to the kindy she is attending now
3. If we send her to a kebangsaan school ….then which kebangsaan school to send her too? since we heard that not many of them are good these days…. *sigh*
I think we gotta do more research before deciding which school to sign her up with. At the end of the day, as long as she is happy, then I guess we’d be happy. If only there is such a thing like GMAT prep courses available for primary school kids in Malaysia. Now that would be a swell idea.
>Colon Cleanse<
Posted on September 23, 2009
I am not familiar with colon cleansing but have read many colon cleanse reviews. I’m wondering whether any of you have ever tried colon cleansing? If yes, do you see or feel any significant changes to your body how fast could you see the results? These days, so many people are falling sick due to the food that we eat which contains all kinds of preservatives and chemicals. We don’t know what kinds of toxic is built up in our bodies. If there is a natural way of cleansing our system, why not eh?

Delicious Treats
Posted on September 18, 2009

Warning : These are not edible
After several rounds of making polymer clay charms (finished charms are at Ashley’s disposable), I finally whipped up some yummy pastel-colored chocolate polymer clay cupcakes and added them into the treasure box. They can be used as a charm, a pendant, earrings or even attached to a cellphone chain.

This is how it looks like when all the cupcakes are attached to a chain. Check out my treasure box for more details.

A couple of months ago…
Posted on September 18, 2009
…. I forgot to mention that Tini, my maid, roughly handled Ashley. Yes, she may be tired and frustrated at handling a 4yo and a 2yo. I would be tired and frustrated too. She is, no doubt a very efficient helper but I guess, like all of us, she too has her bad days - but it doesn’t give her an excuse to roughly handle Ashley. So here is how it went…
I was working in my study room upstairs and Tini was downstairs with Ashley and Aidan. While working, I heard a commotion downstairs - basically Ashley and Tini arguing. Upon hearing it, I decided to peep from the stair case. Tini and Ashley was at topposite side of the grilled door. Tini was outside, Ashley was inside the house.
Tini : Tak payah keluar. banyak nyamuk (She was going to go outside to collect the laundry)
Ashley : Saya MAHU keluar! (like a spoiled brat)
Tini : Tak payah!
Ashley : Mau!
So Tini got fed-up. She opened the grilled door and roughly pulled Ashley by the arm. At that instant, Tini looked up and realised that I saw what happened. She quickly came to her defense…
Tini : Dia mau keluar. Saya cakap tak payah. Saya mau ambil baju.
At this point Aidan was also outside of the house and I guess she didnt want to be able to handle 2 monkeys while collecting the clothes.
I was calm. Angry at what had happened but I was calm. After 5 minutes, I approached her and said,
Me : Tini, saya tau anak-anak saya nakal ya. Tapi kau tak boleh kasar dengan mereka ya. Diorang hanya kanak-kanak saja.
Tini : Sorry mam. Kepala saya sakit.
Me : Kalau kepala sakit, makan panadol. Tapi jangan kasar dengan mereka.
Tini : Bukan, tadi juga Ashley ketuk kepala saya dengan Aidan punya kereta (toy car)
I asked Ashley why she did it but she couldn’t answer. I then asked her to apologise to Tini and she did, with a very sad face.
Yes, Tini was tired. Yes the kids are a handful. That’s why I pay her to look after them. Priority is to look after the kids. 2nd priority is the housework. Yes, she is only human. Yes my kids are being kids. I try my best to teach them good values. But hey! whatever it is, she has no right to roughly handle Ashley. After that episode, I contemplated on video surveillance equipment so that I can monitor the kids and maid from my study room.
Since that episode, such roughness never happened again. I always ask Ashley to tell me if Tini, in any way roughly handles her or beat the kids but so far, no such things happened and that incident is an isolated incident.

being able to work from home means that….
Posted on September 14, 2009
….
1. I get to cut the travelling time hence be more productive work wise and in terms of my time management
2. I can tend to my kids if they need me
3. Send and pick up Ashley to and from school everyday and don’t have to rely on anyone to do that for me.
4. being in conference calls practically every other hour and I sometimes feel as though I am providing some sort of call center services because I have my headset on all the time!
5. my outlook calendar is literally FULL as opposed to when I was in the previous department
6. I get to prepare the dishes that I would like to experiment on as opposed to trying it out dring the weekends.
7. I don’t have to buy office clothes anymore and my suits are all collecting dust!
8. I am infront of my computer all the time! as opposed to getting the chance to roam about the office to chit chat with others
9. my lunch date is always with my kids as opposed to having lunch escapades with my colleagues
10. my care mileage is at a minimal and i fill up the petrol tank every other week as opposed to once a week
11. I get to log off after work and bring my kids to the park right away - I won’t be able to do that if I work at the office.
12. I get to send the kids to the paed if they are not well and I can keep an eye on them at home
13. I get to supervise my maid while she looks after the kids while I work
Therefore in summary, working from home means we are more productive at work and get to spend quality time with the kids.
