Say Cheese!

20 June 09 - Say CHEEEEESE!
Whenever the kids steps out of the house and onto the garage, they get all excited cause then they can play with Sydney and muck around. On our way out of our house last weekend, Ashley decided to plonk herself on the floor and pose for the camera as though she was part of our outdoor furniture. Upon seeing his sister posing on the floor, Aidan placed his stuffed toy on the floor too!
20 June 09 - Wondering why his cheh-cheh is lying on the floor!

Lil Miss Rebel

6 June 2009 - Showing off her Barbie pencil case.
Lately I have been locking horns with this little missy. She seems to be on a rebel phase. My discipline technique of counting 1 to 3 and the naughty corner has fallen on deaf ears and is no longer effective! Negotiating with her and reasoning with her do not always work. When I tell her to do something or don’t do something, she’d do the opposite! When i repeatedly tell her the consequences of not doing or doing something, she’d deliberately disobey me. I mean…what is happening with kids these days eh? Too smart for their own good? I’ve complained to some people and they say that it is a good thing that the kids have their own mind etc but hey….it’s tiring…I have run out of ideas and I am emotionally tired too being a parent. My sis passed me a book to read (Honey, I Wrecked the Kids by Alyson Schafer). She shares about Democratic Parenting and to forgo domination and submission, punishment and rewards and all the other trappings required to raise obedient children. I’ve only started this book so let’s see how it goes….*sigh* *fingers crossed*

bathtime fun
Posted on June 11, 2009
One of the things which Aidan enjoy is to take a shower. When it’s shower time, he’d quickly take his clothes off and jump into the shower with some of his toys. I let him take his time in the shower because he absolutely adores the water falling down onto his face! I got to get some bathroom safety products too now that he is tall enough to open the bathroom door.

Ashley is 4!
Posted on June 8, 2009
10 May 2009 - Peace!!!!
Ashley turned 4 last week but we didn’t have a big celebration because we celebrated both Aidan and her birthday in May. So on her birthday itself, Ashley kept asking, ” Mommy? How come the party has not started yet?”
However to avoid dissapointment, we brought her to see the birds exhibition which was held at Ikano , organized by the KL Bird park. It was nothing fancy but it was good enough to make her happy
so if daughter is happy, everyone is happy
2 June 09 - Ashley with Grandpa (while grandma was busy shopping!)
Now that she is 4 - I think it’s finally time for me to stop her monthly development posts *phew* ![]()

bug in the house
Posted on June 4, 2009
14 May 2009 - Aidan having fun at the playground….he looks like a real cheeky boy in this photo..
17 May 2009 - Gooooood Morning kiddos!
Ashley’s on school holiday for the next 2 weeks and the house has been pretty much filled with more live because my parents are in town as well, staying with us. However, the kiddos are down with a slight fever, and a bad cough and sore throat and both are on medication. Ashley has no qualms in eating her medication but it is the totally opposite for Aidan! He does not listen to reason (cause he is probably too young to comprehend) and we have to use the syringe and squirt it into his mouth while he struggles and screams and cries. *sigh*
The first night was not an easy night for both Aidan and I because he kept waking up and cry and looked for me to sooth him. I didn’t have much sleep during the first night and thank God no acne decided to appear on my face otherwise I’d have to check out what is the best acne treatment that is available.
Having my parents here is a real bonus for us cause my mom will work her magic in the kitchen and my dad keeps the kids company. Both hubs and I have sore throats now……and we reckon we caught the bug from the kids! Hopefully it won’t develop to anything serious because having the whole family sick at one go is no-joke!

to go on a cruise..or not?
Posted on June 4, 2009
This year is a pretty busy year for me - work-wise. I will be able to breathe easier after this September and I am contemplating on a holiday. I was initially thinking of going on a holiday with Hubs but then to leave the kids behind would make us miserable anyways as we will be missing them. But then again, going on a holiday with a 2yo and 4yo in tow is also not exactly a holiday - and we’ll end up having to go on another holiday after that to recuperate! I wonder whether exploring Caribbean cruises would be a good idea for a family holiday….it’s worth a try.

Next project…
Posted on June 4, 2009
Lately, I have been watching alot of how-to tutorials on youtube on how to make polymer clay charms. That’s my next project :) and eventually, I would like to sell them in my blogshop someday. The first thing I did was to buy different colored polymer clay. Next i had to scout for the tools that I’ll need i.e. scalpel, tissue blade and glaze. I checked some of the arts and craft shops in my area but couldn’t find any. I decided to walk into one of the nearest hardware store which sold mainy industrial products and finally, I had to make do with whatever I could find at the store.
This is a very amateur-ish clay charms made by both Ashley and I as a teacher’s day gift. We used iClay instead to make these as iClay do not need to be baked. They will harden by itself after a few hours ( i think cause we left it out to harden over night).
from left to right –> licorice, cupcake, flower, round red bead, round flat charm with the alphabet A

lost no more….
Posted on June 4, 2009
My parents come over to KL quite often but they always feel imprisoned when they stay with us because they are not familiar with the roads in KL and don’t want to get lost. We are considering checking out gps systems so that my parents can be more confident when driving around KL. I think it would be worth it since they come over to KL very often to visit us and their grandkids ![]()

I’ve been hooked…
Posted on June 1, 2009
..to the Twilight Saga! We had the DVD for quite some time now but we never got round to watch it. So 2 fridays ago, I decided to watch it and the next day, I bought the Twilight Saga books and was soooo hooked on the books! I was literally in a Twilight daze for 1 week last week! Sounds pathetic eh? But hey! The story line doesn’t only appeal to teenage girls eh! It also appeal to other Twilight moms too - it seems.
Anyhow, I’ve finished all 4 books already and would probably have to buy diet pill since I haven’t been talking my walks in the evenings - all my free time was used up to read read read last week!
