Aidan is naturally drawn towards cars. When he sees a car on the road, he’d say, “There! Car!”. He has tonnes of toy cars at home which Tini (our domestic helper) keep in a paper bag. Aidan would carry the bag whereever he goes around the house and when he decides to settle down in one part of the house, he’d overturn the bag and the cars will come crashing down onto the floor.
(photos taken on 22 mar 09)
Aidan loves to run his cars along the edge of our bed….
Aidan..in deep concentration…to line his cars up!
As long as the toys cars do not cost as much as diamond rings, he can have as many toy cars as he likes!

21/3/09 - Good Morning kiddos…..everyone is happy…
And then Aidan decided that he wanted his cheh-cheh’s book….
They end up swapping their stuff with each other…..
Ashley decided that I should also take pictures of her baby doll, Kyan and tried to sit it on the head board of our bed.
After a while, Aidan decided that he wanted Kyan, the baby doll back…
They finally agree on the swap and happily posed for me.
It’s not all rosy though..at times, Aidan wants things to himself and if he doesn’t get what he wants….

her 2nd school excursion - Zoo Negara
Posted on March 27, 2009
21 Mar 09 - Good Morning Kiddos!
Little drama before the school excursion…
On Tuesday morning, I heard Ashley asking Hubs for a cloth. I was still half awake in bed then and Hubs was already ready to leave for work. I couldn’t comprehend why she wanted a cloth all of a sudden. My eyes remained closed. After awhile, I heard Ashley saying ..
Ashley : Bed dirty…
Hubs : afterwards ask Kakak to clean your bedsheet ok?
I was curious what as to what kind of dirt it was and i lazily opened one eye and saw a wet patch on Ashley’s bed. I thought nothing of it cause I thought she had drooled while sleeping.
Next, with my eyes closed, I asked Hubs to pass Ashley her milk which Tini had made and placed it on the table outside the room (she does this every morning). Ashley would usually drink her milk in bed with her eyes closed but that morning, she didn’t feel like drinking her milk. I kept bugging her to drink it and then after awhile she knelt on the bed and……buekkkkkk! She puked everything on the bed! Both my eyes instantly opened and I brought her to the bathroom to continue puking. Poor girl….I instantly felt bad for pestering her to drink her milk. Upon seeing her condition then, I decided not to let her go to school that day so that she could rest and go for her school excursion the next day to the zoo. She was fine the whole day except that she didn’t want to drink her milk and I didn’t push her to drink. That night, upon refusing to drink her bedtime milk, she puked the porridge she had for dinner and the watermelon she had for dessert all out! Poor girl. After puking and cleaning up that night, she tugged herself into her own bed and fell asleep on her own. (She would usually be mucking around in the room or on the bed with Aidan during bedtime)
School Excursion - Zoo Negara
The next morning, she declared that she was ok and i scooted her off to school for her excursion to Zoo Negara. This time round, I was not as anxious as before. However, I did label all of her things with a sticker of her name and my number on it and also took a photo of the bus and the car plate number
I was worried that the bus driver may simply hantam and drive the bus as though he was transporting industrial equipment or something like that and so I took a good look at the driver from the outside to make sure he didn’t look dodgy nor look as though he was a junkie.
When she got back from the excursion, she had so many stories to tell and I was glad that she was ok all the way and didn’t puke or anything. These were some of the things she related to us…
- I saw so many animals. i saw Tigers, Lions, Snakes, Giraffes, goats…
- my friends fed the goat leaves
- the snake gave me ice-cream (and then i figured maybe there were people dressed up as animals to entertain the kids)
- We sat on an air con bus you know!!! (duh!)
- so-and-so couldn’t tahan and he peed on the floor at the zoo
Anyway, I was glad that she was ok. She’s not puking now. Hubs reckons that it’s angin in her tummy.

Bukit Tinggi
Posted on March 26, 2009
Last weekend (22 Mar 2009), we initially intended to bring the kids to FRIM after reading Yvonne’s post. Then i googled FRIM for directions but found out that the canopy walks would be closed that weekend for maintenance so I decided that we all go to Bukit Tinggi after reading about it over at Sasha’s blog. So, last Sunday, we woke up early in the morning and scooted off to Bukit Tinggi. It took us about 1/2 hour to reach Bukit Tinggi from the Gombak Toll - which was not bad. I initially hesitated to bring Tini (our domestic helper) along with us but Hubs said “Bring!” so Tini joined us as well and boy were we gladdd that she came along
You know what they say….once you have a maid, you can’t live without one. (Hang on there - Don’t judge me. Keep those judgemental remarks to yourself…).
Ok…..I will let the pictures do the talking….
First stop –> Rabbit Park
Aidan was so taken by the rabbits. He kept wanting to put his forehead against the rabbits.
Check out the donkey. When I asked Ashley to smile, coincidentally, the donkey opened its mouth, showing its teeth as though he was smiling too.
Next we went to the French VIllage.
First of all - i would like to add that there is really nothing great about the french village. I expected it to be bigger but it’s just a short stretch of cobble stones walkaway, flanked by a row of french themed buildings on each side. You can walk from one end to the other end of the walkway in less than 5 minutes. Fortunately, they had a little show by some chinese acrobats which entertained the kids for 1/2 hour. I took that opportunity to feed Aidan his lunch - which he gobbled down quickly while watching the acrobats do their stunts. I was happy that he finished his lunch as he was on a milk strike. Seriously.
A rather sad clown eh?
Next stop? The Japanese Village.
When we arrived there, we had to park at the bottom of the hill and walk all the way up to the Japanese Village cause we missed the shuttle bus.
The hill was quite steep. Look at how Ashley was walking up the hill. She had a bun in one hand while she carried her baby doll (named Kyan by the way) and a balloon.
Ashley freaked out when she saw this milipede. It was HUGE. Can’t tell from the picture though. When Aidan and I went near it, Ashley screamed and asked us to step back. What a drama queen eh?
Aidan couldn’t stop running here and there!
And on the way back, the kids knocked out!

water fun
Posted on March 24, 2009
I was on leave yesterday. After Ashley finished school, we all headed to the mall for lunch and then headed over to my sis’s place for some water fun. Aidan fell asleep in the car on the way and continued to sleep when we arrived at my sis’s place. Since he was in deep sleep, Ashley and I decided to go into the pool first…
And then Aidan woke up…and decided to join us in the pool.
Look at his face…still looking a bit blur…staring into the pool…clad in his swim diaper.
Slowly walking towards the pool…
Aidan chilin’…..He was like this most of the time…he enjoyed floating around the pool…
Aaron (my nephew) looking into the pool - thinking twice whether he should go in or not….
After swimming, we had dinner and let the kids have some fun by the KLCC water fountain.
By the time they got into the car to go back home, they were all set to knock off for the night ![]()

busting my fingers over the weekend making….

……….wire bead rings like this and this. I love how funky and vintagy (is that a word????) they look and found some fabulous tutorials compiled by Wendy.
I first started learning how to make a Copper Rosette Ring as that is like the fundamentals of making wire rings. After many many manyyyyy (trust me…) tries and a sore thumb!, I managed to make one which I was satisfied with!
The picture below was my first failed attempt in making a Copper Rosette Ring
The picture below shows how many rings I made for practice….they are failed attempts really…
The 2 rings below are rings which I somewhat am satisfied with so far but they can be improved further…..nevertheless, after making each of the rings, Ashley declared the ring hers and she has compiled all the rings that I made in her little treasure box!

And seeing how I was into making bracelets and wire rings, Ashley decided to make a bracelet for herself as well!

Durian Lovers

(Credit here)
My kids - they love to eat practically anything (except their own food :|)
We had a craving for durian last night and went to buy some.
Ashley loves eating durian as much as Hubs.
Aidan? He didn’t want the durian flesh without the seed (we didn’t want him to hold the durian with seed for safety reasons). But the lil fella pulled a tantrum and insisted that he wanted the real deal! So we gave into him and he was all good and jolly….
(p/s I didn’t have time to set the white balance - afraid I may miss the ‘moment’)
21 Mar 09 - mmmm yummylicious!
BTW, the durians we bought were really good!
Ashley ate more durians that I did!

28 Feb 09 - Ashley entertained herself by sticking stickers on her face!
Yesterday, while I was in a conference call in my study room/home office, I didn’t realize that Ashley had switched the TV off and went into my bedroom to take a nap. When she woke up several hours later, she said to me,
Ashley : Mommy. I took a nap so that I won’t be grumpy.
I was kinda pleased when she said that because in the past, when she’s tired, she would start to throw her tantrums and get all grumpy and I used to tell her off that if she was tired and sleepy, she should go and take a nap or sleep (for the night) instead of being all grumpy and spoil everyone’s mood. Looks like all the telling-off paid
And since the incident where she really had a good scolding from me, she has been quite good - except for 1 or 2 occassions where she forgets and I had to remind her to behave.
These days, she cannot wait to celebrate her birthday. She knows that her birthday is on the 2nd of June but she still does not know the concept of weeks and months. So everyday, she’d ask me,
Ashley : Mommy? Is it the 2nd of June yet?
Mommy : No..it is x of March.
Ashley : Oh..
Or on other days, she’d say :
Ashley : Mommy? Is it the 8th of May yet? (Aidan’s birthday)
16 Mar4 09 - Ashley and her baby doll called Kyan - named after one of Chris’s and Cini’s twin.
I’m still contemplating whether we should do a double whammy birthday party for the kids or have it separately. I think we are more inclined to have a double whammy birthday celebration. To think of it, it seems like we celebrated their birthday not long ago. Gees! How time flies!
Anyway, anyway, anyway..it’s friday and I have an extended weekend to spend some time with the kids & family. Woot! On another note, I have been having a dry spell for the last few days and didn’t have any inspiration to make any new treasures but I managed to get a doze of inspiration yesterday. I have uploaded new treasures into my blogshop so do hop on over there when you are in one of your blog hopping sprees and gimme some love!
Here are some of my favourite pieces. More here.
This piece is named after the mermaid in Ashley & Aidan’s Barney CD (The Land of Far Far Away) - believe it or not! LOL! cause the colour of the glass beads reminds me of the mermaid’s scales!
This one - I likeeee! It has the vintage-look to it, no?
Oh, which remind me …. I better check out conversion rate optimization for my blogshop. The idea is that it is supposed to make your website more ‘persuasive’ and easier to navigate…..no harm checking it out.

he says…
Posted on March 18, 2009
1 Mar 09 - Aidan posing for Hubs while he was trying to take a picture of Aidan on his handphone.
Where are you??
I went into the bathroom and closed the door behind me. Aidan (as usual) wanted to tailgate me. He knocked frantically on the door and said,
Aidan : Ma-mi!!!!!!!! (where) are you!???? (where) are you!!???
I was pleasantly surprised as it was the first time I heard him stringing 2-3 words together.
His Favourite Word
….is ‘Mine! Mine! Mine!
Ding Dong
When he is playing with his cars and someone is in his way, he’d say, “Ding Dong!”
‘Notty’
Oh..he picked up a new word - ‘Notty” (for naughty). Tini said that he heard him calling my MIL, “Mama Notty!”
On another note, I just can’t get enough of this lil guy. I love the way he dances. His foot work is similar to the Sumazau - showing off to all that he does have some Kadazan blood in him. Cute stuff! I should upload a video of him at it soon! My video archives in the blog is so neglected!
I am also fascinated at how naturally inclined Aidan is towards cars and I am guessing that this is a boy thing. I am enjoying noticing the distinct differences between bringing up a girl and a boy. Ashley loves pretty dresses and all things Barbie and princessy. Aidan loves his toy cars or anything on wheels and it is amazing how he can find any nook and corner around the house and turn it into a make-shift track for his toy cars!
1 Mar 09 - Aidan waiting for Hubs to come out of the bathroom and while waiting, he was nicely sucking on his thumb while fiddling with the string on his bolster - which was initially hand-made by Little Taufu-Fa’s Po Po.
It seems that Aidan is more inclined to his thumb as compared to Ashley. When he sucks his thumb, and the way he sucks his thumbs, you’ll be convinced that his thumb is actually tasty!

Honey Honey…
Posted on March 16, 2009

(15 Mar 09) - the kids insisted on this shot. they insisted on wearing their respective hat/cap which were wayyyy too small for them!
The kids watched Mama Mia last week on DVD. Since then, Ashley and Aidan has been singing the Mama Mia song. Ashley can sing a line or two of the Mama Mia song. Aidan just says ‘Honey Honey..”
On another note, when we were having some pancakes at Paddington Pancakes, Hubs requested for some honey from the waiter. Ashley heard the request and said, “Honey? We can’t eat honey!?? Honey is for bears!” (errr..I reckon too much of Winnie the Pooh?)

15 Mar 09 - His and her feet (picture of Hubs and Ashley’s feet)

27 Jan 09 - Aidan insisted on posing next to Sydney. Speaking of which, we need to get some pet supplies for Sydney tonight.
