13 Sept 08 - Aidan and that cheeky look of his…

14 Sept 08 - Ashley posing before we left the house to attend a wedding dinner…
Of late, Aidan as begun to defend himself against his big sister. He is no longer less mobile than Ashley. He can now walk and run - although clumsy at times - but enough to play catch and hide n seek with his big sister. If Ashley were to unintentionally bully Aidan by snatching his toy or interfere with him playing with other toys, he’d lash out with his hand and grab whatever he can i.e. hair or scratch his big sister - which often leads to Ashley crying. This happens everydayyyyy despite us warning Ashley to leave Aidan alone. Each time Aidan makes his big sister cry, he’d look at either Hubs or I to see our reactions towards his actions. I’d usuallly hide my giggles and my ‘i-told-you-so’ look from the kids and we’d the right thing i.e. tell Aidan that it is wrong to do that to his sis and remind Ashley again and again not to snatch toys from his lil brother or disturb him when he wants to be left alone….

>got acne?<
Posted on September 29, 2008
I am grateful that I am not one of of those who suffers from acne. I do have friends who have acne and they are always on a quest to find out about acne products to get rid of the acne for good. I don’t blame them. I’d do the same if I were them. In fact, I’d be obssessed in trying out recommended acne products available in the market. Good luck you gals! You know who you are…

>auto insurance<
Posted on September 29, 2008
In Malaysia, auto insurance is compulsory. Without it, car owners will not be able to renew their yearly road tax. At one point, I thought it was no use insuring my car at such a high value but when my car got badly damaged in an accident, I was ever so grateful that I had auto insurance which covered the cost of repairing the damage of the car. I learnt then that it is worth insuring my car at its current market value at the time of the renewal of my auto insurance as opposed to insuring it at a lower price to save a couple of bucks.

>promotional items<
Posted on September 29, 2008
Eversince the kids were born, we’ve been bringing them to a particular paed for their jabs or when they were unwell. Ashley never showed any resistance when we bring her to the paed (unlike Aidan) because each time she goes to the paed, she’d receive promotional items that were given to the paed by milk companies. Among the stuff she got from the paed are Baby Einstein sticker books, Mead Johnson stickers and flash cards, Pureen Youghurt head to toe bath gel, and car stickers.

>how to get rid of those spare ‘tyres’ around the waist?<
Posted on September 29, 2008
I used to be proud of my lean torso until I gave birth to Ashley. Since then, it is not so lean anymore. Midriffs is a no no for me now until I get rid of those extra fats I have around my waist. Sounds gross but it’s a fact. The best way to get rid of it is exercise but I have the lamest best excuse - I have 2 kids and hardly anytime to go to the gym!
I gotta find alternative fat burners to get rid of those spare ‘tyres’ of mine…anyone has any suggestion?

calling mommy…
Posted on September 23, 2008

23 Aug 08 - Good Morning Aidan….He was enjoying the view from the bedroom window…
So Aidan can now call everybody except ‘Mommy’! He can say
- Da-deeee… Da-deeee…..for Daddy
- Ka-kak! (Maid)
- Yeh-Yeh! (FIL)
- Ma-ma (MIL)
- Ga-Pa (Grandpa)
- Cheh-cheh (Ashley)
- Ah Pak (my BIL)
So basically he can call everyone except for his mommy. What’s up with that dude? Some have consoled me by saying that it is perhaps a bit difficult to pronounce “mommy’ - ya think? The funny thing is, although he can call everyone, he still prefers me to everyone else - so that’s ok la
My sister is also in the same situation here. My nephew, Aaron can call/say everyone’s name except ‘mommy’. He’d call his mom (my sis) ‘Auntie’ instead of ‘mama’ - maybe because all the kids call my sis ‘Auntie’. So one day…..my sis wanted to pakat with Ashley…
My sis : Ashley, Aaron doesn’t call me mommy. He calls me Auntie. Can you call me ‘mama’ so that Aaron may follow and call me ‘mama’ as well?
Ashley : (looking puzzled..) But you are not my mama! My mama is Mama J! (ashley calls my MIL ‘mama’)
So much for wanting to pakat eh….

>handy man - I am not…<
Posted on September 23, 2008
When it comes to doing the handyman jobs at home - I’d usually leave it to my hubs to do it and pretend for awhile that I am Miss Blondie. The only other thing which I wanted to learn to do around the house was to be able to drill the wall to hang my photo and picture frames up - which I have not perfected the skill yet! (unfortunately…) Nevertheless, for those of you who happen to be sourcing around for Cat5E Keystone Jack, FYI, you can check and compare the prices in Firefold.

>a mom’s habit<
Posted on September 23, 2008
Eversince Ashley and Aidan came into the picture, the focus of my shopping spree had shifted from shopping for myself to shopping for baby clothes for my kids so much so that it became a habit that I buy my kids clothing whenever we go out to a shopping mall! I’d no idea the extent of baby clothing that I got for the kids until I decided to do some spring cleaning to set aside baby clothing for my brother and sis-in-law (whom are expecting a baby boy)! It’s true what they say - to not buy so many clothing for babies - but I couldn’t resist not getting them especially when there are so many cute baby clothes out there in the market. My only hope now in making the purchase all worth it is to get it recycled as often as possible - which means handing it over to any expecting family members or friends.

>shoes shoes shoes<
Posted on September 23, 2008
Like any other girl, I am a shoe person. My storeroom is filled with my shoes. If space permits, I would have had it my way and build a dedicated walk-in shoe closet with my shoes displayed on the shelves on the walls so that I have visibility to what I have. However, I don’t have the luxury of space in my house to do this. Currently, all my shoes are stacked up in shoes boxes with a written label on each of them indicating what shoe is sitting in the box. I don’t favour a particular brand of shoes. There is a variety of branded shoes that are in my store room at the moment and I do not hesitate to try out other brands such as MBT shoes. My motto is - as long as they shoes looks good, comfy and is value for money - why not eh?
