..and when I work from home…
Posted on March 28, 2008
…Ashley would go about doing her own thing. At 2pm/3pm after lunch, she’d start to wind down and have her milk and doze off on the floor next to me in my study room. She refuses to sleep on the bed in my room and would insist to be with me. Hence, the lil missy will be lying down on the floor like this…..
(Picture taken on 3 Mar 08)
I thought the floor will be too hard for her but apparently not cause she slept in that same position for an hour or so.

Gooooood Morning Aidan. The sotong seemed to be yummy at that time…
This is how the sotong looks like by the way
Aidan tugged at his musical mobile until…
..he got to bite at Mr Lion on the musical mobile…
And here’s the Lil Taukeh biting on the strap of my camera bag….

And here’s Aidan sucking at his yummylicioous thumb while fiddling with the string from the bolster made and given by Little Taufu-fa’s grandma.

meal time challenges & discovery
Posted on March 26, 2008

(22 Mar 08) - Goooood Morning Aidan! He couldn’t decide which was yummier. The sotong’s leg or his own foot.

(10 Mar 08) - Ashley fooling around in my study room while I was working from home…
I’ve been having a very challenging time getting Ashley to eat lately. She has been playing around with her food and is totally uninterested in the food that we prepare for her (she loves to eat anything else besides her own food during mealtimes). It came to the point where I punish her by putting her in the naughty corner, shouting at her etc. But lo and behold. I realised that it’s all our fault! It never occured to me that she started to resent the boring food that we always prepare for her i.e. porridge. Just last week, upon the advice of Grandpa, I decided to relax a bit during mealtime and realised that she loved to eat Sushi because of the different colours. Since I work from home, I also give Ashley the choice of what she wants to eat and so far, she enjoyed eating Tuna Sandwiches and Pasta.
Mommy : Ashley? Do you want to eat rice or Mama’s wonderful porridge?
Ashley : Anything else?
Mommy : Huh?
Ashley : Anything ELSEEE???! Pasta?
Mommy : OK! (so happy cause it’s easy to prepare :) and it’s something I can cook )
Love this photo. It’s blur but oh! so Ashley - monkeying around.

it’s been a while….
Posted on March 25, 2008
…since I snapped ‘Good Morning’ photos of the kids. We’re usually rushing on weekday mornings….:P and the weekend is all I have to snap ’Good Morning’ photos of them.

(Picture taken on 20 Mar 08) - Gooooooooooood Morning Kiddos!

And here’s Aidan biting at the strap of my camera bag. He’s putting anything and everything into his mouth these days and we have to be extra careful.
He’s quick.
Real quick at crawling and grabbing stuff to put into his mouth. He’s also an early riser! He wakes up at 6am every morning!! He’d stand up in his cot, hold onto the cot bars with both his hands and cry out to us until I pick him up and lay him down next to me. He is my natural alarm clock - weekends included. Once he’s awake, there’s no guarantee that he’d fall right back to sleep when he is lying down next to me. He’d usually want to crawl all over my face and grab at my hair. So if I’m lucky, my hair would smell of his saliva - which is usually the case…yikes
Oh…and when Aidan refuses to sleep in the mornings, he’d stretch out his hands and go “AH ah ah ah ah ah aaa” as though he is trying to cast a spell on us and then he’d start clapping his hands (right on left) and then hurl himself on me, all 10.7kg of him, like a sack of potatoes. That usually wakes me up completely.
Aidan doing his Twinkle-Twinkle number - check out his hands.

Bangkok Trip (13-16 Mar 08)
Posted on March 24, 2008
I wrote about this trip at my mumbojumbo blog but I guess I should do the same here for the record for my kids
While mommy was at Bangkok and Daddy was at Jakarta, both Ashley and Aidan were being taken care by my parents. So see? You both were in good hands!:P
13 Mar 08 - This photo was taken on the morning I left for Bangkok. As usual, Aidan woke up at 6am and before I left the house for the airport, Aidan had already drank his morning milk and was watching Baby Einstein with Grandpa.
Whoa…where do I start?
Basically the Bangkok trip was birthed from the fact that Vicky and Mark were getting hitched. And since it our last all-girls trip was in 2003 at Phuket (Hen’s weekend for Auntie Koon Pek (sorry gals..in here..you’re all aunties to Ashley & Aidan ya…)) we thought we go to Bangkok this time round for Vicky’s hens’ celebration cum shopping. So we planned this trip since last Oct/Nov 07. When the long awaited day arrived, we were so very excited! Somewhat like small kids getting a bunch of candies!
So there were 10 of us. Yep. 10 gals on this trip.
8 of us flew from KL.
1 flew from Jakarta
1 flew from Germany and we all met at Bangkok.
We stayed at PJ Watergate, Pratunum. The hotel was cheap, clean and decent. The location was very strategic for us. It was walking distance from Platinum Mall (10 min walk). It’s a mall (5-6 floors) where you can find shops selling mostly ladies fashion stuff in wholesale and retail. If ever you want to shop at Bangkok, forget about going to Siam Paragon/Center (you can get the stuff here at Pavillion or Starhill anyways) and forget about shopping at the departmental stores or MBK etc. Just shop at Platinum Mall. Period. They sell at wholesale prices if you buy more than 2 or 3 pieces and they don’t have to be of the same design or sizes or colour. The stuff i bought there were RM18-25 for tops and RM35 for dresses. And, we spent 1 whole freaking day at Platinum Mall!
Here’s a sneak peek at some of my loot. I still had some of them in the laundry
but most of them are in the picture.
We went to other places such as :
- MBK - forget about shopping here. Just head to Platinum Mall cause they don’t sell wholesale at MBK.
- Siam Paragon/Center/Discovery - didn’t get anything here. Shops are similar to Pavillion. The Gardens, Starhill
- Suan Lum Night Bazaar
- Chatuchak Market - damn blardy hot and big this place is! But kitchen stuff like plates and cutleries are dirt cheap!!!
The food was excellent! We ate at :
- A restaurant at Siam Square, Opposite Novotel - can’t remember the name of the restaurant
- T&K Seafood Restaurant at Chinatown. YUM! and cheap! (2200baht for 10 of us)
- Cabbages & Condom, Sukhumvit. - apparently the owner of this place believes that condoms should be easily obtained as cabbages at the market. We got each a condom instead of after-mints when we got the bill!:P
As for the hens’ party, we partied at The Sheraton, Sukhumvit. Our hen was very sporting and very good at doing the stuff we got her to do like i.e. pick up a guy and get his name card, sell 2 condoms we got from Cabbages & Condom for 500 baht, get a guy to dance with her on the dance floor and also get a hot chick and dance sexily on the dance floor. So we thought..what the heck, knock her down man! So after a Flaming Lamborghini, a couple of tequila pops and a couple fo champagne, our hen was knocked out! We carried her into a cab and went back to the hotel, sat her on those trolley used by the bell boys to transport lugagges, carried her onto her bed and before leaving her room, we all surrounded her bed and took a group picture - as proof of our mission being accomplished!
I must say that this was a tiring and fun trip! I think I need a holiday to recuperate from the Bangkok trip. After shopping at Bangkok, you’d never want to shop at KL again.
These are some of our bags we brought back from Bangkok to KL. Our hand carry bags are not in this picture. Mind you, we all went to Bangkok with almost empty bags and a spare bag for hand carry. We were obviously all over-weight and had lots of handcarry on our way back to Bangkok.
I didn’t take much pictures with my camera as I was too lazy to lug my dslr around Bangkok…

(Click here for layout and credits)
Since my all girls’ trip to Bangkok last week was a tiring yet fun trip, I was so tired when I got back on Sunday night and slept overslept the next morning! As a result, my dear daughter had to pay for the price. I didn’t manage to send her to school that day hence she skived.
The following days, I managed to wake up early to send her to school. On Wednesday though, all was fine and dandy that morning (rushing as usual to get into the car and shot off) until I reached her school and …
Mommy : Alamak!
Ashley : Why mommy? (Sounded alarmed)
Mommy : Mommy forgot to bring your school bag…Sorry Ashley! (feeling damn dunggu for being so forgetful)
Ashley : (quiet for awhile and then..) So how mommy???? I don’t have water to drink!
Mommy : Sorry.. I will let your teacher know ok?
Ashley : How? I got no water to drink!
Mommy : Don’t worry ok? I will ask the teacher to give you some water to drink.
As I parked my car, I noticed the school kids in their sports attire…
Mommy : Oh no Ashley! Today is sports days (It’s sports day every wednesdays and they are supposed to wear their sports tee and trousers)
Ashley : Huh? How come I wear uniform? (the dress she was wearing)
Mommy : Mommy forgot that it’s Wednesday today…Sorry!!!
What a boo boo on Mommy’s part!

can shit fly?
Posted on March 18, 2008
Yes…I’m back from my short-lived holiday…..and am back to work since yesterday.
I was doing my work this afternoon and Ashley decided to go to the loo to do her big business. After 1 minute, she said :
Ashley : Mommy? Can I close the door?
Mommy : Why? (cause then I cant see her while I work)
Ashley : Because my ng-ng (poo) is smelly
Mommy : It’s ok cause mommy can’t smell it from here
Ashley : If the shit fly out and bite you how?
Mommy : Shit can’t fly. It’ll just stay in the toilet bowl until you flush it away.
Ashley : Can…. Shit can fly.(and then she used her leg to close the door but it only closed half-way…) I close like this ok? Don’t want to close the door. After(wards) mommy can’t come in….
So..can shit fly? Apparently so…to a 2y 10mo toddler. ![]()

10 months old and a Roman Catholic!
Posted on March 9, 2008
That’s my boy! Aidan is 10 months old today….sadly, the lil taukeh has bronchiolitis! He started to have a runny nose last Saturday, a cough on Sunday and we decided to bring him to the paed and the paed diagnosed him as having bronchiolitis. The Dr administered a nasal spray and he cried his lungs out! And I don’t know whether it’s because he’s sick or whether he has developed separation anxiety but he refuses to be left in his cot. He refuses to sleep in his cot. He’d cry endlessly but the moment I lay him down next to me, he’d immediately settle down and sleep within 5-10 minutes.
Anyway…that aside….at 10 months,
- Aidan is a whooping 10.7kg!

(1 Mar 08) - Photo taken before he had his bath….
- his 5th pearly white is making a debut
- drinks 7oz of milk 3-4 times a day
- eats porridge twice a day

(Photo taken on 1 Mar 08) - This is how his drumstick leg looks like…wanna gigit (bite)? I know I do! I like to squeeze his thighs until he laughs…hehehhehe….very ‘geligitan‘..(that’s kadazan for irrestitable…or something like that)
- still babbles consonants like bah bah bah, wah wah wah, ma ma ma, cha cha cha, ta ta ta
- has been promoted to crawling combat style to crawling on all fours! and he can crawl really fast! 2 nights ago, we left Aidan on the living room floor and I brought Ashley to the loo to pee and when we came out of the loo, the lil taukeh was sitting right in front of door. He looked as though he teleported himself to that position.
- LOVES to eat eat eat!
- he has JUST started to hold his own bottle when he drinks his milk.
- loves to bite at anything! a few days ago, i saw him chewing on something and decided to swipe her mouth with my index finger. My my..I found so many munched up pieces of paper!
- he has recently started to cruise
- he knows how to open and close his hands to the sound of ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars’ and when we say ‘bye’ to him
- he loves it when his sister plays with him. Can’t always say the same the other way round…
And on the 24th Feb 2008, Aidan was baptized by Fr Simon at SFX! Unlike Ashley who was baptized when she was 4 months old, Aidan was baptized just before he turned 10 months old. And unlike Ashley who didn’t wince one bit when she was baptized with by Fr Simon with the Holy Water, Aidan shrieked in horror because :
1. he didn’t get any warning that such huge amounts of cold Holy Water was about to be poured on his head (poor boy)
2. the Fr poured so much of Holy Water until his shirt was wet.
But what did we do? We smiled and even laughed and looked on while Fr Simon proceeded to wipe the Lil Taukeh’s head with a towel.

(photo taken on 24 Feb 08 - morning of his baptism) - See that red mark on his right cheek? He has a similar one on the left cheek and those are the work of the lil missy. She decided that she was a tigress that morning and pinched Aidan on both cheeks with her fingernails! So you can imagine…Aidan had 2 red cheeks later that day.
This picture was taken before we left the house that day to SFX for Aidan’s Baptism Mass…
This was taken before the mass started. Notice how Aidan had his hand on my hair? He was pulling at my hair at the that time and at the same time looking at me…cheeky money….
This is a picture of the lil taukeh….with his hair wet after being baptized with holy water…
After the mass, we snapped a couple of picture at church before adjounrning to PJ Hilton for lunch with the family. Auntie Carol was our officialy video cameramwoman and Uncle Ryan was our official photog.
Picture of us with Fr Simon and Aidan’s God Parents and Cousins Bridget and Nicole…
And finally…here’s a picture of us (starting form left to right) - FIL, MIL, me and Ashley, Aidan and Hubs, Auntie Carol (my sis) and Cousin Aaron and Uncle Ryan (my BIL)
