Standing Up

Hurray! Aidan can pull himself up and stand! And when he did it, he was so happy he was laughing in victory! Check out his victory grin….

(26 Jan 08) I quickly grabbed my camera and snapped a picture of him….Notice the hand on the left hand side of the photo? His ‘cheh-cheh’ wanted to join in the victory cheer!

After awhile, Aidan got tired of standing on his own and couldn’t sit down on his own….and hence the miserable look on his face…

And finally, Aidan and his big sister decided to chill in the cot together…

Aidan and Ashley went about sucking their thumbs! tsk! tsk! tsk!

Babbling Consonants

Apart from standing up, Aidan has started to babble consonants i.e. Ma ma ma, wah wah wah and he sounds mighty cute!

His Third Tooth

And just yesterday, we noticed that he is cutting his third tooth! Hurray Dan! Perhaps the fever he had previously was due to him teething? Hmm…maybe but he is ok now.

the next top model…

I’ve got new stuff at my store.

My order from Bali has finally arrived.

Nice girlie dresses with yummy colours - perfect for CNY. I had a lot of fun going through the goods one by one and snapped photos of them to be posted up at my online store - Great Expectations.

And who’s my model?

Non other than the Lil Missy of course!! She dictated everything! Her poses, position, what shoes to wear (which are all mine by the way)…everything! Cheeky gal…

She even wanted to pose by the gate!

The photoshoot sure wasn’t an easy one especially with a toddler with a mind of her own…but it was fun!

On a different note…

Yesterday morning, when I tried to wake her up in the morning to get ready for school….

Mommy : Ashley…wake up…..you got to get ready to go to school

Ashley : I am so sleepy! I want to sleep…

Mommy : But we are going to be late…

Ashley : Mommy make-up first ok?

Mommy : But mommy has already applied make-up…see my face?

(I would usually do my make-up when she’s awake. She’d want to go through my box of make-up and imitate me)

Ashley : (Squinted her eyes a bit) But I didn’t see??? (What she meant was that she didn’t see me do my make-up)

Mommy : Mommy did it when you were still sleeping….

Ashley : Oh….

This cheeky girl of mine was buying for more time to sleep in …

Lil Taukeh caught the bug again…

First…he had viral fever a few days ago…

Now, the Lil Taukeh has a hacking cough and a runny nose….

This is a viscious cycle….I just hope that we (Hubs and I) won’t fall sick again! I think it’s a stark reminder for us to start taking supplements to keep us healthy for the kids…

On a great Saturday morning, Aidan, as usual, was the earliest to rise……He wanted OUT from his cot. He wanted to join Lil Missy on the big bed….

and just when i thought they were on the road to recovery….

..the kiddos fell sick again! *sigh*

Lil Taukeh has a viral fever.

Lil Missy is down with a flu and a cough!….

Lil Taukeh? Well, my mil reckons that it may be due to teething. We brough him to the paed anyways to double confirm that it’s nothing serious i.e. ear infection, urinary tract infection or whatever….Could be Roseola but we will only know once the fever subsides and the rashes appear after that…

Lil Missy? I reckon she may have got the flu/cough from school. When I sent her back to school last week, some kids were SICK…what annoys me most is that the poor boy was having a fever and he is still at school? Poor boy! He was crying and looked so miserable! There were other kids having runny nose and all…

So…after 1 1/2 weeks of going to school, Lil Missy is not going to school for the next two days at least so that she can recover and not spread it to her school mates….*fingers crossed*!

Ok..going off tangent a bit…..

My budding photographer daughter was having fun with my Canon Powershot point & shoot camera…

She snapped a photo of Hubs during his birthday dinner last year (29 Dec 07). Not bad for a beginner eh?

on christmas day afternoon…

……while my parents were busy getting ready for the big annual Christmas party that night which they were hosting, my sister and her family and us decided to ronda-ronda around KK abit and ended up having tea at Shangrila’s Tg Aru Resort’s Coco-Joe’s. It was 2.30pm in the afternoon. It was H O T! But nice cause we sat outdoors and had the view of the beach and also a teaser of the peak of Mt Kinabalu since it was a bit cloudy.

We had a great view from where we were sitting…

Since it was a last minute decision - we weren’t dressed for the occasion (as opposed to wearing shorts and t-shirt ..something cooling)

Notice how grumpy Ashley is in the picture..and notice how she is sucking her thumb and reaching for my hair at the same time. She was hot and not in the mood at being photograghed at. Poor gal.

Lucky for her, I brought a spare dress for her which was more airy..and she was a happy camper after that…

Aidan was sweating too! Poor Aidan…..

We had to unbutton his romper so that he could cool down a bit…

The lil missy wanted to go to the loo and so I brought her to the washroom which was a 3-minute walk away. When I got back, what did I find?

My rock star son, Aidan….

An almost naked Lil Taukeh! He was sweating profusely and Hubs decided to strip him..except for the diaper

I changed him into a spare change of clothes which I brought and he was all find and dandy after that …

On the way back, Ashley decided to play at the playground at the hotel….

..and decided that she didn’t want to go into the tunnel cause she said that it was dirty (notice that she’s pointing at the tunnel…)

All in all..we had good fun being away from the hustle and bustle of KL city life.

Lil Missy’s version of sharing…

Scene 1

We gave her some biscuits….

Hubs : Can I have some?

Ashley : (Takes one biscuit, extended her hand to Hub’s mouth and before Hubs could bite on it, she retracted her hand and said) Argh! Saliva. Cannot eat. *slap head*

Scene 2

I gave her a bittle of Vitagen…

Mom : Can I have some vitagen

Ashley : Ok…but I hold (the bottle) ok?

Mom : Ok.

And she let’s me drink her vitagen via the straw….

Ashley : Ok! Don’t drink until here! Pointing to half the bottle…Why you drink so much????

Ok guilty. I didn’t want her to drink so much of the Vitagen because

1. She tends to spill it when it’s full (eh? I don’t have a maid..so I’ll have to clean up after her mess!:))

2. Don’t want her to drink so much of Vitagen but since she has already been introduced to it…I’ll just have to control her intake…..

Scene 3

Whenever I take something out to snack on…she’d say, ” Mommy? What’s that? Share k? Share k?”

Scene 4

While drinking some chinese tea over dinner…I wanted to tease her since she was enjoying her chinese tea sooo much ans I personally don’t drink chinese tea (I don’t fancy the taste…really..)

Mom : Ashley, can I have some of your tea?

Ashley : (thinks hard…) This is mine. Daddy, give mommy some tea

Mom : No..but I want yours…

Ashley : Cannot….it is bitter…not nice ok?

On another note, I’ve been drilling into her that at school, she is never to share her water with anyone else and she can never drink her friend’s water (hygiene purposes). I did tell her that she could share her biscuits with her friends though. Poor girl. She must be thinking this sharing business thingy is complicated. Anyhow, she did repeat after me a few days later that she can’t share her water nor drink her friends’ water but can share her biscuits…..so I hope she doesn’t forget it when she’s at school.

Why did I protect this blog?

Lots of people have asked me why I protected this blog. No, nothing has happened.

I’ve been meaning to do this for a long time now. After installing the statcounter, I got a much clearer picture of where my readers are from, how they got to my blog and how long they spent on my blog. I also know what kind of searches that were done on search engines which ended up at my blog.

So first things, first. 22.9% of my readers spent more than an hour on my blog. Ya, they could have forgotten to close their browser but I didn’t want to take any sort of risk. I don’t want some sick people out there to be reading the blog and piecing the pieces together and learn about the story of my kids’ life! With the latest disappearance of Sharlinie (God Bless her!), I’ve decided to protect my blog. It’s scary how much of information is actually shared in a blog and sometimes, the blog author may not realise it when they are on a blog writing spree….but I’ve read many blogs of which I could basically make out where they were living, what car they drove and even what schools their kids go to! So there…hope it answers your question on why I made this move

Ok..so what’s a post without a picture eh?

(13 Jan 08) - What was the lil taukeh looking at? He was watching Barney on tv. He looks a bit kesian behind the bars eh?

On another note, since this blog is protected and hence I will not be able to do any paid posts (plus my PR was 0 anyways), I’ve decided that I still do want to do paid posts and hence……introducing, the birth of http://momsmumbojumbo.blogspot.com. Kindly update your feedreader…:) I’ll still blog about Ashley and Aidan here but at mumbojumbo, I’ll blog about other stuff. It’s a place where I’d (how Sasha would put it..) blablabla..Let’s just hope that I will be able to maintain this second blog of mine Comments left by mumbojumbo in your blogs are actually by moi ok?

When things go missing around the house? Who is the first suspect? Non other than the lil missy.

The Ring

A few months ago, Hubs lost his wedding ring. We searched high and low and couldn’t find it. We even called up my temp maid to ask her whether she has seen it or not while she cleaned our house and she said no. So the weeks passed by. Each Sunday, when Hosilda (temp maid) came in, she’d keep a look out for the ring. After about 2 months, my wonderful maid found it. Where? Under the refrigerator. So.. lesson learnt for the daddy? Don’t leave your valuables lying around the house!

The remote control

Our tv remote control for the tv in our bedroom was missing for 2 weeks before Hosila miraculously found it in one of the paper bags in our room. Culprit? Non other than Ashley. Ashley likes to open drawers, take stuff and stuff them into whatever bags/paper bags she sees about the house and pretend to go shopping!

My ActivCard

Like Jazzmint, I too work from home at times when I do not have any scheduled meetings. When I work from home, I too use the ActivCard like Jazzmint. So today, I worked from home and as I was going to connect to my office network, I searched around for my ActivCard in its usual spot and it wasn’t there! First thing which came to my mind - A S H L E Y !!!! Ashley was in school then….so I had no choice. I had to borrow Jazzmint’s id and passcode to log on to the office network today! *SIGH* and at the same time requested with our IT Support for a replacement.

But sometimes, the lil missy will remember where she kept our stuff and will lead us to it - but that’s quite rare since she does 1001 things in a day!:)

on new years day…

..the kids woke up all bright and cheery…

Ashley got hold of my handphone and pretended to speak to someone while looking at her hair…

Aidan woke up…still abit blur…..with the Mickey Mouse tossed on top of him Thanks KP for the Mickey Mouse doll.

The kiddos were playing around on the bed for a bit….and then we got ready to go to my sister’s place for New Year lunch……

We had yummy lamb chops - lots of them!

And to entice Ashley to finish her own food FAST, she had a seat with a view. We placed Aaron’s toys in front of her and she had the view of the pool from the balcony…

After that the kiddos played by themselves - Ashley, Aidan and Aaron…

We decided to have some fun with the cub ears and look what we have ?
