2 weeks ago, we brought both Ashley and Aidan to the paed for their immunization jabs. Ashley got her 1st booster for Diptheria, Tetanus and Polio and Aidan got the immunization jab against pneumococal meningitis. Thankfully, the both of them didn’t come down with any fever after that. We were initially nervous that Ashley would cry because during her previous visits to the paed, she cried although she didn’t get any injections whatsoever. This time round, she didn’t wince one bit when the paed gave her the injection. When it came to Aidan’s turn, the poor boy cried for a bit. Poor boy…

Aidan has received lots of goodies and gifts from friends, family and even blogger friends even when he was still sitting plump in my belly. Aidan got his first pair of shoes from the lil tyke & family when we celebrated Lil Missy’s 2nd birthday a month before her actual birthday. He looks kinda street-groovy in it don’t cha think?

A week after I officially started potty training Ashley, she successfully peed in her potty! Phew!…and then a week after that, she started to poo in the potty/WC! Yay! It’s funny cause we place her potty where it is easily accessible for her at the corner of the living room. One day, we saw her running towards the potty, pulled down her pants and weed. Yay! We were so impressed we cheered her on! The day she first started to poo in the potty happened by coincidence. She was not wearing any diapers at home and I reckon she had a tummy ache. She ran to the potty without saying a word, did her job in a jiffy and then stood up and looked at her poo and she looked pretty uneasy that her poo was in the potty. So I brought her potty to the loo, emptied the contents of it into the WC and encouraged her to flush the toilet. Then during the subsequent mornings, she requested to sit on the WC and when it was time to do her big biz, she said, “Mommy? Hold my hand. Mmm Mmm…” Never did I imagine that I’d be so happy to see her poo in the WC! Way to go Ashley! That being said, we still let her wear the diaper at nights and also to school….I hope we are not giving her mixed messages :) 

Po*n Scare!

…So I was out of the blog action just for a wee bit and I forgot to renew my host subscription and domain name for a day and what did I get in return when I tried to access my blog site a few days ago? A po*n scare! Yup. It had po*n pictures all over the site and right on the top of the page, it said that my domain name has expired and it asked me to click on the link to renew it and where did that link bring me back to? To Eternal Solutions homepage. So? I was late to renew my host subscription and domain name for 1 measly day and I get po*n in return? The funny thing was that there’s still po*n on my website even after I renewed my host subscription and domain name. This only happens if I access my blog site from the office but when I access my blog site from home with the same notebook, all is fine….Weird. Crappy. Dodgy!

Happy 3 months, Aidan Boy!

My michelin baby in-the-making is 3 months old today. At 3 months :-

- He drinks 5oz every 3 hours

- He sleeps througout the night and wake up at 5.30am for milk

- He loves to suck his fingers

- He coos

- He is staying awake longer than usual

- He’s wearing 3-6 months clothing

- He smiles when we talk to him

Since Ashley has started to go to her playgroup and is not fully potty trained yet, I thought I should jump-start the process. So last Saturday, since we were home the whole day, I let her go diaper-less….She must have soiled 6-7 undies in a span of 5 hours. After each accident, I kept reminding her that she should pee at the WC. Thank God I kept washing her soiled undies and hung them out under the sun to dry cause by the time all her undies in the closet were used up, the earlier ones which I hung out to dry had already dried! So day 1 of potty training was not very successfull…

Day 2 - Sunday

I only let her go diaper-less in the afternoon after she had woken up from her nap cause we were out at mass in the morning. As soon as she woke up, I brought her to the loo and encouraged her to pee….and finally! never did I expect that I’d be sooooo glad to hear pee trickling down the WC! Yipee! Ashley was surprised too that she managed to pee in the WC. I praised her and she was so proud of her achievement!

Then…later that day, when I was carrying Aidan whilst trying to put him to sleep, Ashley said that she wanted to pee….I couldn’t bring her to the loo then cause Aidan was crying in my arms. Thankfully, I had placed her potty at the living room earlier that day and so I asked her to pee into the potty instead. She obliged and ta dah! When she was done with her business,  she was so proud to show me the fruits of her labour 

However, later that evening, she was playing so much so that she forgot all about peeing in the potty/WC and so an accident happened.. But anyhow, it’s an improvement from the day before!

The challenge now is trying to be consistent in our methods of potty training her since she goes to my MIL’s house during the day at weekdays as well…..let’s see….

On another note - My poor Aidan  has been short-changed of his ‘good morning aidan’ photos series as compared to his big sister……so here’s one…

life without a maid…

….ironically - has never been better! At least :-

- I don’t have to manage another person in the house

- I don’t have to wonder why the maid is taking double the time to finish a chore compared to me if I were to do it….

- I don’t have to worry whether she is up to no-good with the other Indon men and compromise the safety of my family….

- We have one less person to deal with when we go out.

Yea…..we don’t have anyone to do the household chores for us on a daily basis….but we still got our God-Send temp maid to come in on Sundays…*phew*

Yea…..the house looks as like an aftermath of a hurricane most times of the week..and gets tidied up when temp maid comes in on Sundays…

Yea…we have to hang the laundry out to dry by ourselves…

Yea…we have to wash the kids’ bottles ourselves…

Yea…the clean clothes gets piled up in the basket for 3 days before we actually sit down to fold all the clothes…

But hey..who’s complaining? After what we’ve been through, this is easy-peasy. Nevermind la…work it out a bit…at least it can help me to lose my pregnancy weight and yes..I still got 7kgs to go! Those spare bicycle tyres (which I had after the birth of Ashley) are now like truck tyres round my waist!

Lil Missy is 26 months old

Whoa….Lil Missy is 26 months old today.

Weight : 12kg (she hasn’t been gaining much weight)

Teeth : Lotsa them! I’ve lost count!

Vocabulary/Speech

Ashley is quite good in this area. At times, we see ourselves in her when she starts to talk…These are some of the things she says :

- Mommy. Don’t stand here. Stand there. It’s wet here. Slippery. After(wards) fall down. Accident. Ya!

- Aidan? Why are you crying? Why? Why? Aidan???

- Baby (referring to her baby doll), stop crying. Go naughty corner. Beat the bum-bum….

- Aidan? Bolster here. Pillow here. (while Ashley arranges the pillow and bolster next to Aidan). OK? Oi-oi-oi (trying to coax Aidan to sleep)

- Daddy? Wear belt. (Seat belt). Dangerous. Accident! Mommy? Wear belt, ok?

- Mommy? Want coffee? with cream? sugar?

Ashley the Entertainer

Ashley loves to dance. Grandma taught her how to do the cha-cha and she’d do the cha-cha when we ask her to. 

Lil Miss Grumps

Ashley’s not always sweet. At times, she’d be have grumoy days too. Uncle Chris came by to the house a couple of times and somehow or another, she has a bone to pick with Uncle Chris. She’d defendsively say, “NO!” when Uncle Chris look at her. Or when Uncle Chris tries to play with Ashley, Ashley would defensively grab her toys and say,”No! MINE!”. So Uncle Chris has labelled her Miss Grumps!

School

It’s the 2nd month since Ashley started to go to a playschool. She no longer cries when I drop her off at school!:) However, when I spoke to her teacher this morning, she said that Ashley is pretty quiet at school and would usually be observing the surroundings. I dropped her off at the playground at her school this morning and then peeked at her from a corner and noticed that she was standing in the middle of the walkway, looking at the kids playing about. Looks like she is quiet at school but she is the total opposite when she’s at home ground!

Independence

As time goes by, Ashley is showing some signs of independence. She wants to take off her own clothes, wear her own socks and shoes, wear her own clothes, carry her own bag. choose her own clothes to wear! etc.

Likes

- Loves to play with Grandpa!

- Likes to feed herself

Ashley the Negotiator

This Lil Missy is always pushing her luck.

Mommy : Ashley come on over. Mommy’s going to wash your bum-bum

Ashley : Mommy? Wait. Wait ok? Wait.

or…

Ashley : Mommy, I want book

Mommy : Ok (passes a book to her)

Ashley : Mommy read. Ashley tired….

Lil Miss Mischief

When she’s naughty…

Mommy : Ashley, sit down on the chair (as opposed to standing on the chair). If I count to 3 and  you still haven’t sit down on the chair, Mommy will bring you to the naughty corner. 1……2……

Ashley : (She’d come down the chair and willingly run to the naughty corner (which is actually the bottom of the stairs) and sit down - voluntarily!)

or

Mommy : (blablablabal) I’ll count to 3. If you don’t (blablabla), you’ll sleep at the naughty corner tonight. You want to sleep at the naughty corner????

Ashley : Yesssss!

There’s just so much to write about this 2 year-old  but for now, mommy needs to go to bed and grab some shut-eye….
