Recently, when I took Aidan’s mittens off, he discovered his fingers! He tried to shove his fingers into his mouth and sucked on them. He made such loud sucking noises till we could hear him a mile away! Last night, he woke up in the middle of the night and started sucking on his fingers as though it was a delicious drumstick:)
On another note, Lil Missy was great this morning. She walked from the car all the way to her classroom and just before entering the classroom, she stopped, hugged and kissed me. Seeing her walk away from me and into her classroom made me feel nostalgic - It’s as though she is growing up too fast for me.

And again, Ashley made more progress. This time, she agreed to walk while holding my hand from the car right up to the door of her classroom! Hurrah! Before I opened the door to her classroom, she gave me a hug and a kiss and went into the classroom. It wasn’t as though she was jumping for joy for going to school. She was expressionless - also due to the fact that she was sleepy from the car ride. But hey….she has made great progress! Unlike before, I left the school feeling very light-hearted and happy. I am one happy mama:)

Towards the end of this week, Ashley didn’t cry at all when I dropped her off at school. I’d usually have to carry her right up to her teacher in the classroom but towards the end of last week, she agreed to walk to her classroom - which is a big deal for us. So bravo to lil missy. Hope that you’ll walk from the car to the classroom on Monday.

PPP : Personalised items for children
Posted on July 28, 2007
This is a sponsored post.
I remember the night before Ashley’s first day of school….I was busy labelling ALL of her stuff - stuff that she was going to bring along to school. I was afraid that she may misplace her things at school or may not be able to recognise her own school bag (since she is only 2 years old). So what did I do? I made sure that all of her things were labelled clearly with her name on it and my phone number on it just in case of emergency. Little did I know that at Identity Direct, you can personalise your kids’ items such as personalised pencil sets, lunch box, crayon sets and lots more! You can even personlised Adventure Books! Log on to Identity Direct and check out the wide selection of products that they have to offer.

school
Posted on July 25, 2007
It’s been 4 weeks since Ashley started going to her playgroup at a Kindy.
During the first week, she was excellent. She didn’t cry one bit. The teacher was impressed. So were we.
During the second week, she started to cling on to me and cry whenever I drop her off at class. Why? I dunno….She probably didn’t know what deal she was in for during her first week at school and realised it during the second week. When asked her whether she wanted to go to school the next day, she responded,”Yes. Want mommy to go to classroom.” Want mommy carry.”
By the middle of 2nd week, Ashley had Roseola and didn’t go to school for the next 1.5 weeks. During the time she was sick, she was soooooooooooo moody, grumpy and clingy. Poor gal.
When she fully recovered, I brought her to school again.
This week is her first week back at school since she recovered. I’ve been psyching her up for school over the weekend and she seemed eager to go back to school again. On Monday, when we arrived at school, she insisted that I carry her and when I left her with the teacher, she cried! I left, with a very very heavy heart.
On Tuesday, she was ok during the ride to school. But when we arrived there, again, she insisted that I carry her and cried when I left her with the teacher. Again, I left with a heavy heart.
Today, surprisingly, she didn’t cry!
I am hoping and praying that she won’t cry tomorrow. *fingers crossed*

work it out!

So I called my ex-temp maid earlier this week and she agreed to come to our house on Sunday to do the cleaning - like before. Yippee Yay! On Saturday night, she called to inform us that she was sick and won’t be able to come in on Sunday…Darn! So? This mama had to do the cleaning on Sunday morning! When Ashley saw me cleaning the garage floor, she called out cheekily to me, “Kakak! Kakak!” It has been awhile since I did the house cleaning (vacuum, mop, change bedsheets, wash bathrooms) and boy did I work out! I reckon I have to do this more often to lose those pregnancy weight that I’ve gained.
P/S
Both my kids are napping at the moment - these moments are oh so hard to come by! Finally some peace and quiet in our home….

Aidan has started to coo
Posted on July 21, 2007

Aidan has started to coo when we talk to him. These days, he is awake for longer periods and he is so easy to please him. All he needs is for someone to talk to him and he’d smile, occasionally laugh and coo…I feel I am not so close to Aidan as I am to Ashley because each time I carry Aidan, Ashley will want me to carry her or she’d start crying and throw one of her tantrums. As a result, I’d always have to pass Aidan to Hubs. When Ashley starts one of her tantrums, all she wants is mommy to carry her and grab mommy’s hair. Not even daddy can calm her down.
