doesn’t it happen to everyone? I’m trying to make the most of my remaining maternity leave….
1. Need to sort out photos and do up a photo wall in my house…..need to find inspiration on how I’m going to go about the photo wall….
2. Need to scout around for a pre-school for Ashley….I think she needs to socialize a bit….
3. Need to fullfill my creative team obligations for my designers….
4. I want to make some nice jewellery pieces for myself…can’t seem to find time to do beading at home! If it’s not Ashley trying to get my attention, then it’d be Aidan needing milk and then having to burp him. The time when both Aidan and Ashley are asleep at the same time during the day is just so hard to come by..and when it happens, it’s precious - for me
I hope that I can accomplish all of the above before I start work….*sigh*…work….I can’t imagine myself going back to work….
Anyways…that said, I’m giving up blogging for the time being until I sort myself out. I will be on a hiatus for a bit..till then..adios!

so-kay….so-kay…

A couple of days ago, Aidan was crying while he was lying down in his cot. Ashley, being the big sister that she is, went up to Aidan, stuck her tiny hands in between the cot bars, patted Aidan on his legs and said, “so-kay (it’s ok)….so-kay Aidannnnn? so-kay….”
Ashley would lie down next to Aidan (if he’s on our bed) when he’s crying and say to her lil brother, “Aidan?????? no no no…..don’t cry.” and when Aidan continues to cry, Ashley said,” Aidan?…don’t cry….mommy here, daddy here, ash-nee (Ashley) here, grandma here, grandpa here.”

..those cheeks on Aidan are already filling up and his lil skinny legs are slowly getting bigger and meatier! Aidan’s cough is improving by the day and we brought him to the paed earlier this week for a checkup just to rule out the possibility of any serious illnesses or diseases like whopping cough or bronchitis etc. The paed said that for a baby this young, there is no medication for cough…he just have to live with it until it wears off…poor baby….Although he has the cough, he’s still gaining weight - so that’s a good sign. At 6 weeks, he is 4.8kg (from 4.3kg at 1 month old). He’s drinking 4.5 oz of milk and drinks milk every 3hrs. Hope my baby gets well soon! I hate to see him cough like an old man…

Grandma bought Ashley a hairband some months back. Each time we put it on her head, we’d say, “wow…so pretty..like princess!” So since then, she refers to the hair band as ’princess’. A couple of days ago, she requested for the ‘princess’ which was in the cabinet. I put it on her head and she agreed to pose in front of the camera for me. After that, she took the hair band off and put it on her daddy’s head and said, “wow! pwetty! wow daddy!!!”

Ashley trying to put the hair band on her daddy’s head…..

…and since I am still on maternity leave….I’ve enrolled in a jewellery beading class with my sis (Baby Aaron’s mama). We enrolled for the Level 1 course which consist of 8 classes and so far, we’ve gone for 5 classes already. We go for class twice a week for 2 hours and I must say that it is very therapeutic and very rewarding. After each class, we get to bring back our masterpieces. Will post pictures of my masterpieces later… It’s nice being away from the house, from the kids just doing my own stuff and not having to worry about nappy changes and milk feeds for awhile…

…was not bad actually …. my parents were not around but I had :
- Barney
- my hair!
- Hubs
- Season 3 Grey’s Anatomy DVD
- my maid (yes…she is of some help in some way….)
Barney kept Ashley entertained while I fed Ashley her meals…
My hair (although it’s short) is of soooo much use! It’s used to soothe Ashley when she wants to sleep. And if Barney fails to entertain her while I am feeding her her food, Ashley is happy with holding my hair! When we were on the way to attend a wedding dinner, Ashley, Aidan and I were at the back seat. Ashley was in her own car seat behind the passenger seat. Aidan was in his baby carrier in the middle and I was sitting behind the driver’s seat. As usual, if I am not the driver, Ashley usually wants me to carry her but obviously I couldn’t carry her just in case I needed to tend to Aidan if he were to cry. So what was the solution? My hair! I had to stretch across Aidan over to Ashley so that she could grab my hair! Boy do I wish I had kept my hair long!
And when Hubs was around, he kept Ashley distracted while I tend to Aidan’s needs or had to get ourselves prepared to go out.
Grey’s Anatomy kept me and Ashley entertained while Aidan was in slumberland during the day and Hubs was out at work…
My maid (although a doh-doh bird she is….that’s another long story…) were my extra set of hands which I am grateful of….
I shall not write about my maid anymore. I don’t think Ashley and Aidan would be interested to read about me bitching about the maid when they are old enough to read this blog…so from now on, I will stop writing about the maid…but not before I say this…..
- last weekend, when I went downstairs in the morning at 9am to spot check on her, I found our main gate was WIDE open and my ‘dear’ maid was in the kitchen. When queried, she said,’Oh…lupa. Tadi mau sapu di luar tapi tak jadi……’ WTF????
- while Ashley and I were watching the tele in the living hall, I decided to go into the kitchen and found the kettle above the stove boiling furiously above the fire. Where was the ‘dear’ maid? Upstairs ironing our clothes for the last half the freaking hour! When queried, she said, ” oh tadi saya check tapi belum mendidih…” ..of which I scr**ed her up nicely and told her not to leave the kitchen until the gas is turned off and dramatized abit that if the whole house were to be burnt down, she’d also be burnt to death.
So anyways..I called up my maid agent and she advised me to bring my maid in for a 2-day counselling before I decide to reject her because apparently it’s the protocol. I know that if I were to send my maid back to the agent for counselling, she will really ‘get it’ from them and probably come back to my house with a vengeance - which I don’t think is very wise….So I decided to give her counselling myself! Started by praising her on her good points (which wasn’t many really…sad!) and then started rambling on her negative points. I re-wrote and re-emphasized her work schedule and also wrote down the dos and the don’ts and gave her the notebook which I wrote everything down in and asked her to read it over and over again. I also said that I will be doing this kind of session on a monthly basis….After the 1-hour ‘talk/counselling session’ which I had with her, she improved the next day - which is today…but only time will tell….*fingers crossed!*
Back to last weekend…..Aidan survived the wedding reception. He slept most of the time and woke up for feeds. He was a good baby. Ashley didn’t have her afternoon nap that day and slept in the car on the way to the hotel. When we arrived there, she was a bit stoned. Which was good cause she was at her best behaviour throughout the entire dinner. She slept on her own chair, ate her own food by herself. She started to warm up with the reception was almost over…*phew*…so she ran around abit (Hubs had the liberty to chase after her…) and then we headed back home…

…is the first weekend on our own without my parents. My parents have gone over to my sis’s place for the weekend to spend some time with their other grandson - Aaron. So yesterday was the first time I gave Aidan a bath! Was a bit rusty but still managed to give him a decent bath. LOL! I must say that I’ve had to delicately ‘handle’ Ashley cause she gets really clingy to me especially when I tend to Aidan. So….what did I do? Barney to the rescue!!!! Thank God I have a bunch of Barney CDs so she’ll never get bored with them!
This weekend will also be the first time that we’ll be attending a wedding reception with BOTH the kids….So many ‘firsts’ this weekend…let’s see how it goes by the end of the week..
