Goooooood MorNInnngggg Ashley!!!

we had an open house in the afternoon and all of our friends came over for lunch and (of course…) to gamble…

ashley in her cot…amusing herself with teddy. that’s one of the three halter-neck dress which grandma made specially for ashley for cny. she looked great in it.

ashley engrossed with the tube of drapolene….that’s one of the ways i used to distract her while i change her diaper…otherwise i’d be wrestling with her while i change her diaper.

ashley was very happy with all the company that we had during the open house….she only managed 2 cat naps in the afternoon to recharge herself.

Ashley’s first Chinese New Year….

Gong Xi Fa Cai!!!! Ashley’s first “ang pow” from grandma and grandpa. We were on our way out for mass. Notice Ashley’s dress..that’s one of the halter-neck dress grandma made for Ashley for CNY…

We had lunch at Ikea and silly me…..i didn’t fasten the bottle tight enough and the water spilled ALL OVER her dress while she was in her stroller. Unfortunately, I only brought 1 spare t-shirt (without any shorts/pants/skirt)….therefore, she spent the whole afternoon with her spare t-shirt and diaper! So much for the pretty dress…

We had dinner at MIL & FIL’s place that night…

grandma brought ashley out of the house for a photoshoot before scooting her into the house for her cat nap….

ashley was very obssessed with the new toy that aunt jen got for her….

she’d try to bite it but obviously it’s too big for her mouth….after awhile, she threw it on the floor and moved on to the next toy to bite on…

Before Ashley was born, hubs and I were frequent movie-goers with our bunch of friends. After the birth of Ashley, we stopped going to the cinemas because of the very obvious reasons. Ashley. Ever since she was born, (not that I am complaining here) we’ve only been to the cinema twice. I’ve always wondered whether people actually bring their babies to the cinema. My colleague told me that she has brought her babies (above 6 months) to the movies and have also seen other people doing so.

Yesterday, my friends and I decided to watch King Kong at GSC One U (since my parents are down and they could babysit Ashley). We contemplated for a while whether to bring Ashley or not cause the movie was at 7:30pm……so by the time we reach home, we’d only get to spend time with her for less than an hour before we shoot off to the cinema for the next 3 hours of King Kong. Alas we decided against bringing her cause we were running late (as usual) and Ashley wasn’t ready (changed, wiped etc) and plus the fact that my parents were going on and on about the sound being too loud for her etc etc…

Anyhow, the moment we reached the cinema, I regretted not bringing her cause the cinema was :

- 10% occupied
- The seats were big and comfy
- We were seated at the corner
- There were other kids in there (although I didn’t notice any babies)
- And the sound wasn’t thhhhattt loud

Therefore the next time we decide to go to the movies…Ashley’s coming with us!

she likes to do this - hold the head board and pull herself up.

sometimes, i can’t believe that i am a mother of this little missy. it feels great to be a mother! love it! not so cool though when a kiddo calls me auntie or an adult calls me kak! but ……..what the heck!

There! Finally…

poor baby

pooooooooooooooooooor ashley couldn’t poo for 2 days. yes. she was constipated. we had to bring her to the paed today to get her poo out of her system with endema. 5 minutes later….ashley tried to puuush and pushhh and push and cried and cried in pain. it broke our hearts to see her suffer like that. it breaks my heart to think about what happened today. so i shan’t post all the details down. from now on, she’s eating more veges veges and veges!

moving on to happier times…here’s a video of ashley….talkin’ and talkin’ and talkin’..wonder what she was trying to say to mommy…

the sniffles

the not-so-little MRS sniffles
not only was ashley down with a flu - even mommy was down with a flu the last couple of days. luckily the ever reliable clarinase managed to stop my runny nose but the downside of it was that i had a major blocked nose!

grandma sniffles
yes. grandma is down. with a fever, flu and sore throat. so although grandma and grandpa were in kl since tuesday, we still dropped ashley off at MIL’s place for the next 2 days while grandma recovers. today was the first day that grandma and grandpa babysat ashley during the day. they were absolutely delighted.

pretty lil things

grandma, grandpa and udis (hired help) arrived at kl on tuesday (17 jan 06). this time, ashley did not have any reservations towards their grandparents unlike the last time. this time, grandma brought 3 lovely pressie for ashley i.e. 3 halter-neck sundresses specially made by grandma for ashley. after our xmas holidays at kk, grandma managed to copy the pattern of one of ashley’s halter-neck dresses and swiftly made 3 dresses for ashley in 3 days - 1 dress per day.
yes. my mom is an expert seamstress. no she does not do it for a living. she’s just one of those students back in the old days where she scored straight As for home ec.

wibbly wobbly
yesterday, ashley’s reaction took me by surprise. as of today, she knows how to crawl. not swiftly…but enough to crawl to whereever she wants to, at her own pace. last night, ashley and i were lying down on our bed. then, she started to crawl to the headboard, held the top of it and actually attempted to stand up on her 2 feet. she did succeed but was wobbly. how about that?

look mommy, daddy…..i’m drinking with 1 hand only!
