christmas @ uncle simon’s
Posted on December 31, 2005
(28 dec 05)

on the day we arrived back @ kl, we rushed to settle down before heading off to uncle simon’s house for another round of chritsmas party among friends. everyone bought pressies for everyone and we exchanged gifts after the yummy dinner… this year, uncle simon put up an 8-feet christmas tree in the living room which was absolutely gorgeous!

ashley playing by the foot of the christmas tree - obviously preferred her socks to the pressies!

ashley - very amused with the pressies - she grabbed them and tried to put the egdes into her mouth! she received loadssss of pressies from her uncles and aunts!

our last day @ sabah

ashley and grandma - asleep in the car
since it was our last day at sabah, we were out the whole day today to do last minute shopping for pressies for friends back @ kl to be exchanged during the xmas party tomorrow night. ashley was fuss-free the whole time when we were out. while hubs and i were busy shopping around at the mall, grandma and grandpa were also walking around the mall with ashley.

ashley was very amused by her hand towel. she grabbed at it and chucked her thumb into her mouth.
my aunt stephanie came over to the house with her son, andrew (9 months old) and her daughter, louise (3.5 years old).
ashley’s aunt louise was a bit camera-shy at first..but warmed up quite quickly afterwards…

camera-shy louise…

aunt louise…warming up to the camera…

aunt louise - posing for the camera already!

this is a blur shot of louise and andrew…i was wrong. joshua isn’t ashley’s youngest uncle. andrew is! and he is 9 months old.
i like this…this is the morning after christmas. it was very nice and peaceful around the house cause there was noone rushing about preparing for a party unlike the day before…

remembering the victims of the tsunami
Posted on December 26, 2005
i post this post in hopes that one day, ashley would realise how fortunate she is. it’s been exactly 1 year since the tsunami. many children became orphans after the tragedy struck. may the souls of the victims whom have passed away rest in peace and may the victims who have survived the tragedy learn to move on, no matter how difficult it is.

the christmas party
Posted on December 26, 2005
loads of people turned out for our christmas bbq. ashley had a really good nap before the party started and when it started, she was wide awake and was passed around for everyone to carry. she didn’t cry one bit throughout the night thus we had the time to mingle around with friends, aunts, uncles and relatives *phew*!
and like other christmases, we’d celebrate hubs and cousin ryan’s (10 years old) birthday as both their birthdays fall on the same day i.e. 29th dec. and again, like the previous years, my mom would bake some yummy birthday cake. this year, she baked a chocolate moist cake. i can’t say that it was yummy, cause neither hubs nor i got a chance to eat a slice of it. after singing the birthday song, the cake was sliced and the cake was snapped up in a jiffy!

christmas morning
Posted on December 25, 2005
as like other christmases, grandma would be very busy baking cakes - christmas fruit cakes, chocolate moist cakes, butter cakes and the works! in fact, every year, grandma will start baking cakes 1-2 months before Christmas as she’d get orders from friends as early as Oct every year. and thus, the house will be filled with freshly baked cakes during the christmas season. ’tis indeed the smell of love!
this morning, we woke up to the smell of turkey being roasted in the oven. as usual, grandma was as busy as a bumble bee baking yet another cake and grandpa was busy preparing the house for the yearly Christmas BBQ which is usually hosted by them evvvverrry christmas.

pictures of ashley taken on christmas morning. she was very cheerful and relaxed in grandpa’s arms..

the buffet table all set-up for tonight’s bbq

the super-duper bbq pit which grandpa uses to bbq all those yummy lamb chops, chicken wings, fish etc…and YES…my dad is a serious bbq fan!

the wait
Posted on December 24, 2005
so we arrived at the chapel at 5:45pm and there were ample seats available. we chose to sit behind the leong family. since we were 2hr 15 mins early…the wait wasn’t that long cause we managed to catch up during the wait and we were entertained by little ryan who is 3 years old. ryan is a very diplomatic boy…
me : ryan, who do you love more? mommy or daddy?
ryan : (thinks for awhile and responds …) mommy and daddy..together
diplomatic or what? this came from a 3 year old kiddo…
me : (when feeding ashley her milk..) ryan…do you also want to drink milk? you can share ashley’s milk..??
ryan : oh no..it’s ok…i’ll go back home and drink.
ashley was looking at her cloth book ..
ryan : do you have another book?
me : no..this is the only one we have (pointing to the cloth book)
ryan : i like to see sportscar magazines. do you have any?
me : no..this is the only one i have (pointing again at the cloth book)
hubs : what sports car do you like?
ryan : (without hesitation, he answered..) ferrari

ryan - showing off his kung-fu stunts…
we paid a visit to our relatives this afternoon and ashley got to meet her youngest uncle for the very first time.

letf pic : this is 3-year old joshua - ashley’s youngest uncle

i’d usually lie ashley down on a pillow and ensure that she is inclined when she drinks her milk. this picture was taken after she had a milk this evening. she purposely smiled for me for this shot. cutie pie!

christmas eve
Posted on December 24, 2005
as like other christmas eves at home, we’d attend the 8pm christmas eve mass. this is unlike any other masses cause we’d usually arrive 2-3 hours BEFORE the mass starts! yes. it’s ridiculous but true. st simon’s chapel is air conditioned and loads of early birds would arrive especially early to secure seats in the chapel itself. sorry late comers would have to settle for seats outside of the chapel. and yes, it sucks alot if you’re with kids.

a groggy ashley with grandpa this morning @ grandpa’s garden. she had just woken up.

we’re at grandma and grandpa’s
Posted on December 23, 2005

ashley and daddy at the departure hall….
once again, we’re home at kk, sabah for christmas but this time, we’ve got an addition to the family i.e. ashley - our little bundle of joy! indeed she is a little bundle of joy. christmas this year is especially special as it’s our very first christmas with ashley…or shall i say, it’s ashley’s first christmas. when we were at the baggage hall, i looked out of the baggage hall and sure enough, i spotted a very happy grandpa waiting RIGHT in front of the doorway. he immediately signalled to take over ashley in her stroller while we waited for our baggage to arrive.
oh..might i also add that this is the first time we had to pay for overweight baggage! we were 3kg overweight! ah well..it doesn’t take a genius to figure out why we had overweight baggage this time - blameeeee it on ashley! ![]()
when the plane took off, ashley was sound asleep in my arms. she slept for the next 1 hour and after that, she was awake for the rest of the flight. she had no problems with the pressure and was basically a very curious and happy baby throughout the journey. *phew*!

oops caught in the act!
we had christmas dinner at italiannise with aunt carol, uncle terence and uncle ryan last night. this is a picture of ashley who obviously preferred her bare toes to her other toys!

ashley has been putting both her lips together - we reckon it’s because of her tooth/teeth which are coming out.
p/s
dialup is nooooot so bad…thought i’d be extremely spoiled with broadband!
