I have been experiencing the Braxton Hicks more often these days…although it is painless…it kinda scares me that the time is drawing near…
The skin surrounding my belly button is sooooo itchy! ARGH!
A few days ago, I went into a really cold room and I could feel my uterus contracting as a result of the coldness! It’s like the Braxton Hicks.

Alas Dr Patrick assured me that the size of my belly is normal although it is small..as long as the baby is normal, the fluid surrounding the baby is at a normal level and that there must be at LEAST 10 baby movements in a day to signify that the baby is healthy. Apart from that, he took measurements of Ashley’s head, abdomen, femur - and they are all normal with no fetal abnormalities! My belly looks smaller than usual cause of my height….I can deal with that! He did mention that the baby is now lower but I still do feel discomfort in breathing though…as though I have to consciously breathe harder. Now that the baby is lower, it’s a bit difficult to sit down cause my lower abdomen will be pressing against my thighs….hmm…and sometimes I can feel Ashley kicking/punching my thighs when I am in a sitting position.

Today, I went for my first 3D Ultrasound scan with Dr Patrick Chia at FMGC. It was a very interesting experience being able to see baby Ashley in 3D! She was moving alot and one minute we could see her face and the next, she has moved away…..we couldn’t even confirm whether it’s an Ashley or Aidan cause she was in a very awkward position….anyhow, doc confirmed that Baby Ashley is very healthy and is normal. He said that she is 2KG and would probably come out less than 3KG….The Dr also confirmed that I have been experiencing Braxton Hicks cause very often, my belly would harden up and would be in a very funny shape e.g. sharp on one end and flat on the other….errr…scary that the time is actually coming soon!!!

Picture of Baby Ashley….she was sticking her tongue out at us…
This picture on top is the blood flow in her heart…..it was a really interestign experience to hear her heartbeat - like a race horse!

34 weeks
Last night, I went to my MIL’s place for dinner and as I am approaching my delivery date, I suppose it is only natural that my MIL would offer more and more advice since we only meet once a week. The following are some advice which she gave me which I thought was a bit funny but I kept quiet out of respect for her la…
1. When I told her that these days, with modern medicine, there are many different types of painkillers like the gas, pe….(can’t remember) and epidural….- as soon as I said epidural, she said.”No….no good”…..contraction pains are natural…just bear with it….it’s not painful…(and here is when Keet managed to sneak in a grin) and when asked whether she used any painkillers during her time, she said no…and she gave birth to 4 ok! Hmmm……anyways..with all that said…..I am going for epidural.
2. She mentioned that if you place your palm just below the breast, you can feel whether the womb has dropped and baby engaged or not….
3. She mentioned that according to the old grandma tales…..if a pregnant woman were to lie flat on her back and if her belly is somewhat flat, then it’s a girl. If the belly is protruding sharply outwards, it’s a boy….
4. Also, she offered that only if we wanted, when the baby is delivered, she can jot down the date and exact time and get her sister to go to some chinese guy so that he can give us a few selection of good and meaningful chinese names for the baby…..errr…..Keet and I have decided to give this a pass.

Ok…so I couldn’t resist (again) so I bought these 2 body suits by Baby Gap for only RM9.90 each! Decided to get blue JJJJUUUSSSSTTTT in case Ashley comes out as an Aidan instead! Everyone kept telling me that if the doctor says that it’s a girl, there’s always a high chance that it could be a boy as well…So..I think blue is pretty safe for both sexes anyways…
