I started off November with a BANG! I had brunch with my girl friends at KitaKita, Bukit Damansara and had a really good time catching up although we do chat on WhatsApp like every.single.day! Catching up over food is so much better. As the saying goes, food taste better when you eat it with friends!!! Between the 3 of us, we had Laksa Johor, Nasi Lemak, Cekodok pisang and Karipap! Word of caution, specify the parts of the chicken you want for your Nasi Lemak or you might risk getting a part you don’t fancy. The Nasi Lemak was so-so. Not that great. I didn’t get to taste the Laksa Johor (perhaps next time) but the Cekodok Pisang and Karipap were yummy and addictive too. (You’ve been warned.)
I realized that ever since I started working from home full-time for a decade, I missed out a lot on 1-on-1 human interaction with adults. (Gosh, I sound like a katak di bawah tempurung don’t I?)
But I am serious!
Before I started working from home, lunch time was fun because we always looked for interesting places to go to to eat. We looked forward to lunch time everyday.
And then I switched roles 10 years ago and started working full-time from home and then gone were my lunch outings. I ate alone at home, or with my kids but mostly alone. I guess you can say that I am making up for lost time now because since I left my full-time job, I have been going out for lunches practically everyday with family, friends, ex-colleagues etc. It makes my eat-clean feat a bit of a challenge as you can see….
So today, I am taking a break from my lunch appointments and had something simple at home instead (before my big lunch tomorrow again with a good old friend). See? It never stops.
What the heck?
Life is short.
Meet that friend.
Eat that nasi lemak.
Buy that dress.
Hug your loved ones fiercely.
Eat that cotton candy just because…..
What the heck!
How did you start off with November?
