RSS Feeds and Feedburner

So I have been tinkering around with my blog lately. I wanted a new look to it. I haven’t changed the theme for years. Changing the wordpress theme for this blog wasn’t as simple as I thought it would be. Turns out that the layout of my blog was totalled screwed up when I wanted to change it to this new theme but I spent hours figuring out what went wrong last night. After disabling ALL the plugins  and removing ALL the widgets, the problem with the layout finally got fixed.

So I changed it from this….

to this! What do you think? Love it? Hate it? I think it’s simpler with clean lines.

…..And then I found out that there was something wrong with my RSS Feeds. Before I knew how to fix it, I had to google what RSS  and Feedburner were all about because believe it or not, my mind just went blank.

What is RSS?

RRS stand for Really Simple Syndication. What it does is that it basically retrieves the latest content from the sites you are interested in and pulls them into your feedreader where you can read them all in one location rather than visiting the sites separately.

What is Feedburner?

Feedburner is a free web service which enhances bloggers and podcasters ability to manage their RSS feeds and track usage of their subscribers e.g. for me, Feedburner tells me how many people subscribes to my feed. If you want that, head on over to to claim your feed and publish it.

Ok back to my feeds…..

If you want to follow this blog and type in the in your blog roll (especially in Blogger), chances are that it will appear like this :

When you hover your mouse over it, it points to –>> however that just gives an error! I don’t know why. If any of you know why, please tell me. I can’t sleep if I can’t figure this out.

Meanwhile, I have a new RSS feed for this blog.

It is –>

So if your blog roll has that fire icon next to my blog name, please update your blog roll with my new RSS feed url while I figure out what is happening.

Thank you!
